Almost updgraded this year but got the atomos ninja 2 with it and it gave a second life to my good old sony cam.
With this shoulder support, i can now mount my atomos, mic, LED, tripod mount, and the camera feels really well balanced over my shoulder.

This rig is relatively inexpensive for a 15 mm rod type rigs. The setup is about the right length. The handles are comfortable.

The rods are painted aluminum. When loosened, the pieces slide easily along the rods.

However, the rods are not internally threaded so you cannot add an extension rod, end caps or other attachments. I tapped out 12 mm threads into the rods. Also the handles attach, not to a single rod, but to a coupling with two rods are different sizes. These rods are solid.

To make it fully functional for me, I had to add additional pieces (rods, tripod sled, counterweight and offset clamps) to support a viewfinder.

Comments about Revo SR-1500 Dual Grip Shoulder Support Rig:

We got this as a cheap way to get a quality rig for an indie documentary we are shooting in a foreign country where we have to be mobile. The rig is solid and does what is advertised, but even with the companies 5 pound weight it is front heavy. This problem could be fixed if the rig was extended/ longer... like it appears to be in the picture.

Comments about Revo SR-1500 Dual Grip Shoulder Support Rig:

I like this product a lot. It's very affordable and performs well. I have a Panasonic HVX200 (not the lightest camcorder) and this shoulder mount supports it with ease. I would recommend this to someone with this type of camera.

    Highly recommended

    By Scott M.

Comments about Revo SR-1500 Dual Grip Shoulder Support Rig:

This is a must have rig for any DSLR shooter. You could pay way more for similar rigs and see little to difference in quality. It has a very solid, mostly metal construction and the grips are comfortable to hold. The included rods seem a bit excessive in length for your average DSLR rig, but that does give you a lot of space to work with if you need it and they can always be swapped out for shorter ones.

Comments about Revo SR-1500 Dual Grip Shoulder Support Rig:

I was impressed by the build quality of this rig at this price point. Depending on your camera you may not need an offset rig. I feel that this will work with or without a monitor or evf attached. There is a mounting point for a quick release plate on the forward end of the shoulder pad so you can quickly drop the unit onto a tripod. The long rods give you lots of flexibility.

Comments about Revo SR-1500 Dual Grip Shoulder Support Rig:

This is great rig. Gives the same stability and strength of some of the more expensive rigs and didn't cost me nearly as much. It also has same ability for customization as those other rigs, which gives all the flexibility I need on run and gun shoots to larger productions. That said, I'm only a DSLR shooter, so I can't speak for use it with larger cameras, but the SR-1500 does have the larger screws, so I'm definitely going to put it to the test with c300/c100

I wasn't expecting much given that I cheaped out... Solid rig for the price. Everything is metal and has a decent weight to it. Sandard sizes on the rig allows for thrid party accessories. Simple, gets the job done. The only bummer is needing an alan wrench to tighten the mounting screw. Keep a set in your gear bag.

Comments about Revo SR-1500 Dual Grip Shoulder Support Rig:

I have used this rig with various projects. Like most rigs, it is almost entirely adjustable and customizable. However, it wears down a little after a few uses—particularly some looseness in the handles that results in a very slight rattling that is not noticeable in footage but is slightly uncomfortable. It is very well built—the shoulder pad is comfortable and the rods are very strong and can handle a lot of weight (although the rods themselves are quite heavy). There is no offset piece, which causes a little discomfort when shooting as all of the weight of the rig consequently rests on one side of the body. All this being said, this is by far the BEST VALUE shoulder rig out there. Nothing it lacks is necessary for great video shooting, just a marginal increase in comfort.

Love! Love! Love! We have put this rig to the test on stage for 15 different concerts and love the shots that we can get. I can't believe how sturdy the whole device is. You are able to customize the placement of just about everything so you can get the right fit and balance for your specific camera. We use this with the Panasonic HMC150. I also love that when you are not using the camera, you can just set it down and it doesn't tip over like the single shoulder mounts would. The fact that it uses standard rail sizes gives you lots of options for mounting.

                          A good affordable shoulder rig.

                          from Austin, TX

Comments about Revo SR-1500 Dual Grip Shoulder Support Rig:

I must say that I am quite pleased with this shoulder rig. It's everything I needed and maybe a bit more. And considering the price, I'd say if you don't have one and you are looking for one especially at an affordable price, this is one you should check out.

                          Pros:
Light and comfortable. Enough padding for your shoulder and hands to grip on.

Very inexpensive compared to most rigs like this.

Adjustable for your shooting preference and can be taken apart completely for packing.

Flexible it seems with different kinds of cameras and mounts.

Haven't tested this but seems it can be added to. Whether you need an external monitor, you might be able to find a way to hook it up on here if you get the right pieces and attachments. Again, haven't tested this but it may be possible.

Can use this on your tripod too if desired, though you'll need to adjust the weight balance a bit.

Cheap slider? Yeah, I did some shots using it like a slider since I can't afford one right now. It works. Not as great as a real slider obviously, but it can work as a mini slider if you have it set up on a tripod and get creative enough haha.

                          Cons:
Mounting the camera is a bit finicky and awkward. Also you need to use an Allan Wrench in order to secure and tighten the screw to the camera. Thankfully it comes with one, but now you have to worry about losing it, and that's something you don't want to worry about on a shoot.

                          Overall:
In really didn't have much to complain about this rig. It's cheap, but for the price, it's surprising pretty good quality. Definitely good for people on a budget who need a rig like this. It gets the job done, and for the price, does it pretty well.
