Theres many lights that have this frame. So I feel they put their own name on it. However they added some features to make it better than the cheap Chinese products you buy that look similiar

Comments about ikan iLED312-v2 On-Camera Dual Color LED Light with Digital Display:

good design. the batteries last a long time. I used it off and on throughout a long day and still had 25% battery left just using the 2 small batteries that come with it. It can take 2 large NP-970 batteries as well and, although I haven't tried it yet, I'm betting it'll last for days with 2 of those.
It's bright enough for most of my needs. In the sun it only fills in the face slightly, but helps a bit. The barn doors seem useless to me, but the diffusion is nice for wide angle shooting. The knobs feel good and the hot-shoe mount seems sturdy enough. The case is nice too and it's lightweight. Adjustable color temp and dimmer make me feel spoiled. Great camera light that throws sufficiently far and doesn't blind people like my old camera light. well worth the money. I'm very happy.

              Small light with big potential

              By Radiant Amar

Comments about ikan iLED312-v2 On-Camera Dual Color LED Light with Digital Display:

I was looking for a compact solution to satisfy location lighting needs. Most of the units are overkill for what I wanted. I ran across this LED panel and so far couldn't be more happy! It's light weight and portable, it comes as a full kit with batteries and case and it is well built. Some of the other amazing features are that the lights are stackable if you need a bigger stronger source and it comes with barn doors which can double as a diffusion sock holder. The unit is bi colored and fully dimmable. The only thing that I don't like is the mount on the bottom for the camera. I think that it's more of a preference thing, but otherwise I'm pleased

Comments about ikan iLED312-v2 On-Camera Dual Color LED Light with Digital Display:

Sturdy construction - much better than my previous break-after-a-few-uses camera lights. Nice case, 2 batteries and metal barn doors. Not "pro" quality to take daily abuse and keep working but good enough for my casual use.
Tested exposure in dark room with this light 6 feet from a grey card. ISO 800, 1/60 sec at f/3.5 for 3200K, f/5 for 4400K (midpoint with both sets of LEDs on) and f/4 at 5600K. You can clip together several of these lights to provide more output.

Comments about ikan iLED312-v2 On-Camera Dual Color LED Light with Digital Display:

I have only used this product on one occasion so far so take this with a grain of salt. I am very pleased with the product and its value. This is a complete package including two rechargeable (Sony-type) batteries + a two battery charger, "barn doors," a diffuser, cold shoe post, and even a smart carrying case. All seem to be pretty high quality. The LED unit also seems to be very high quality with receptacles for the two batteries, a digital display on the back which shows color temperature (which is variable), percentage of dimming, and battery life. Separate knobs control dimming and variable color temperature. The light was much brighter than expected and did a great job on the videos I shot. (Note that this is a pretty large LED panel for an on-camera unit so look elsewhere if you want something more petite and non-descript.) You can also buy additional LED panels. They are made to interlock compatibly with a slider on the side of each LED unit. Based on my limited experience (see above) battery life does not seem to be an issue with this unit. I have two criticisms so far, neither of which would dissuade me from purchasing this again. The documentation is pretty spare and rudimentary, diagramming only where pieces fit, but not how to use them. For example, it took me a little time to figure out that there is a tiny spring-loaded release knob that you have to pull on to slide the diffuser and barn doors in and out of their slots. There is nothing in the way of recommendations for use and care of the product. There is also no documentation for this unit found on the ikan website, probably because this is a relatively new product which they wanted to get on the market quickly. My second criticism is with the cold shoe post, which has a mini ball joint. While the post is sturdy enough, there should be a warning in the documentation because unless the cold shoe connection on the post is properly adjusted, the unit could easily slide out of a cold shoe mount which would obviously be bad. How to go about making this adjustment for a secure mount would be a nice thing to have in the documentation. I was able to get there, but only after some trial and error. Also the knob on the ball joint only controls vertical movement, but not horizontal rotation of the LED unit at all. Because of this it was easy for the LED to freely spin off target. I may look for a mount that dampens rotation at least somewhat. Lastly, a recommendation. Because this is such a large LED and sits so high, I did not feel comfortable mounting it in my camera shoe. I was a little concerned that maybe the high center of balance would exceed the design limitations of the shoe mount. Consequently, I mounted the unit in the cold shoe of a flash bracket (which itself was attached to the female tripod receptacle on my camera.) I felt more comfortable with that arrangement. Even better, I started looking for a relatively inexpensive rig to attach to along with, e.g., a shotgun microphone.
