The Mamiya Remote Control Set (RS402) takes full advantage of the automated functions of the 645AF. The wireless receiver unit attaches to the camera's hot shoe and plugs into the receptacle on the side of the body and operates via infrared impulses relayed by the transmitter.

Wireless operation of the camera is possible up to 30 m (98.45') outdoors while a choice of 3 channels eliminates signal interference
