The Pelco TW3001AT converts the video signal coming from a single BNC analog device so that it can be transmitted over a UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cable. Along with color and B/W video, this unit will also transmit Pelco's Coaxitron (up the coax) PTZ control signal over the same UTP wire, eliminating the need to run a separate control cable. Some of the key advantages UTP has over a BNC cable is a lower cost, less bulkiness and most importantly, the ability to transmit over longer distances without suffering signal attenuation. A UTP transmitter is also an obvious choice for use in buildings already wired for UTP.

This unit is compatible with all Pelco UTP equipped cameras, enclosures and domes. Pelco recommends the use of Cat5e or Cat6 UTP cables. Two attached side brackets allow the unit to be easily mounted to a wall.

DIP Switch Distance Selector
The maximum UTP cable distance supported by this unit depends on the type of UTP receiver used at the other end of the cable. When used with a Pelco active receiver, the distance is automatically set to 4000 feet (1219m). This can be further extended to 4500-5000 feet (1371-1524m) by moving the DIP switches on this unit. When used with a Pelco passive receiver, the UTP cable distance can be set between 500 and 3000 feet (152-914m), again by moving the DIP switches. The maximum UTP cable distance for Coaxitron (up the coax) control is 750 feet (229m), regardless of the type of receiver or UTP cable in use.
