The HuntTrack GPS Compass from Bushnell is a handheld navigation device designed for hunters, hikers, and anyone needing help to find their way. Simply activate the stored location the HuntTrack does the rest, helping you maintain the correct heading and displaying the distance to your location. A self-calibrating digital compass continuously uses the incoming GPS signal to optimize compass accuracy, even while standing still. The one-step manual calibration function allows the operator to re-orient the compass sensor if an obstructed view of the sky forces the device to lose GPS reception.
In addition to being a user-friendly digital compass, the HuntTrack also uses an array of integrated sensors to provide environmental data like temperature, air pressure, and altitude. Other useful functions of the HuntTrack include a sunrise/sunset and moon phase display, as well as an Animal Activity graph with 12-hour history and forecast. The HuntTrack internal memory can log up to 48 hours of trip data and up to 25 waypoint locations. The built-in temperature and barometric pressure sensors are useful tools for determining elevation change, dramatic weather changes, and optimal hunting times.
This device has a USB port and is compatible with Google Earth, Mac and Windows-compatible BackTrack software, which allow the data on the HuntTrack to be viewed and saved on your computer. The water-resistant device housing is rubberized around its outer edge and on its buttons for enhanced grip; an attachment point for a lanyard or carabiner also makes the HuntTrack a well-equipped GPS compass for day hikes, a day on the hunt, or almost any outdoor adventure.
