Rode NTG-3

The NTG-3 is a brand-new, broadcast-grade shotgun microphone representing years of development by the engineering team at RODE Microphones. It's precise, it's robust, and it's surprisingly affordable, offering a level of professional durability and quality of sound that's competitive with microphones several times its price.

The RODE NTG-3 is highly resistant to moisture, humidity, dust and extremes of temperature, so it's a truly worthy alternative for world-wide location recording applications. Additionally, the microphone features proven RF interference immunity to radio frequency emissions from nearby antennas, camera equipment or power lines while exhibiting high sensitivity, exceptionally low self-noise and outstanding output capabilities. The NTG-3 combines a very low weight (under 6 oz.) with ultra-low handling noise, ideal for boom operators. The elegant simplicity of its design and anti-glare finish looks and works great on-camera. The microphone is equipped with a foam-lined, weather-resistant aluminum storage cylinder which provides additional protection during transportation.

On axis the NTG-3 exhibits excellent detailing with a clean and almost musical sound reproduction that never sounds harsh or sterile. The off-axis response of the mic is wide enough to allow for clear and focused two-person interviews with a more natural location ambience. The NTG-3 offers a unique level of audio reproduction, elegance and ruggedness that will satisfy discriminating professionals for many years.
