The long awaited dual channel wireless system has arrived

Videographers and location sound professionals frequently need wireless systems with the capacity to handle two transmitters sending their signals to a single receiver. The quality of the audio signal and the dependability of the product, however, were not open for compromise. Audio Technica have finally answered this call with the 1800 series.

The real star of the show here is the new R1820 true diversity UHF receiver. Housed in a compact, rugged metal chassis with a backlit LCD display, it's packed with features to satisfy the wish lists of production people far and wide. It’s equipped with a frequency agility of 996 channels, along with an automatic scanning functionality to help you quickly navigate the airwaves to avoid static and interference. If you’re only using a single transmitter you can power down the internal receiver you’re not using to conserve battery life. It runs on six "AA" batteries for six hours in dual mode, ten hours in single mode, or you can use external DC power. Both internal receivers are true diversity, and both outputs are independently assignable for mono/stereo and balanced for maximum signal quality.

Kits are packaged with the new T1801 belt pack and T1802 plug on transmitters. Both are powered with two "AA" batteries and feature LO/HI transmission modes to conserve battery life. The belt pack features a two color LED power/mute indicator, and the plug on can supply phantom power to condenser microphones.
