Olympus has announced the new 16MP Pen E-PL5 and E-PM2 mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras with 4/3 Live MOS sensors, along with two new compatible primes: a special edition M.ZUIKO 12mm f/2.0 and a macro 60mm f/2.8.

The LUMIX DMC-GH3 is Panasonic’s latest addition to the GH line of digital single lens mirrorless cameras and builds on the concept that  photography and video hold equal merit.

The new 16-megapixel Sony NEX-6 compact interchangeable lens digital camera features an APS-C HD CMOS sensor and an advanced DSLR-style auto focusing system. You can take full-resolution stills at 10 fps, or shoot Full HD 1920 x 1080 video and compose your shots with its XGA OLED TruFinder electronic viewfinder or touch-screen LCD.

Fujfilm has just announced a new member of their continuously growing X-series: the X-E1 digital camera. This camera continues to round out the popular system, favoring retro styling, manual capabilities and high imaging performance.

The Sony NEX-7 a new camera with 24.3 megapixels, and a world first OLED built-in viewfinder, hot-shoe, built in flash, and revolutionary Tri-Navi system, the NEX-7 is truly a professional camera that transcends all expectations.

Sony has just announced the newest camera in its line of mirrorless cameras: the NEX-5R. Following suit of its predecessors, this camera is a compact, interchangeable-lens camera with a large APS-C-sized sensor. This combination provides a bit of both worlds; the portability of a compact point and shoot with the control and image quality reminiscent of a DSLR.

The new Nikon 1 J2 Mirrorless Digital Camera features an improved, higher resolution 921,000 dot 3” (7.5 cm) LCD screen; a 10.1MP CX format, 13.2mm x 8.8mm AF CMOS image sensor with a crop factor of 2.7x; and it includes a Nikkor 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 lens that’s compatible with the camera’s Nikon 1 mount. In addition to being available in black, white, silver, red and pink, the new J2 is also available in orange.

Canon has long been a stronghold in the realms of point and shoots and DSLRs. However, it has left the relatively new world of mirrorless cameras alone, until now, with a mirrorless camera that combines the best of both of the aforementioned cameras into a single body, giving you greater portability and compactness than a DSLR and more control and versatility than a point and shoot.

Perhaps Olympus was right when it declared, “A new era in Micro Four Thirds technology is about to begin.” With the combination of mirrorless camera functionality and SLR professional quality, Olympus seems to be aiming to make history repeat itself with the innovative OM-D E-M5 Micro Four Thirds camera.

Samsung’s NX20 is a newly released mirrorless camera featuring an APS-C-sized 20.3 megapixel CMOS sensor with a DSLR form factor.  This camera comes bundled with an 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens, which is equivalent to a 27-82.5mm lens in 35mm format.
