Bescor Lighting Kit for Blackmagic Cinema Cameras

B&H now carries the Bescor BM-K1 kit, a pair of LED-70 on-camera lights and other accessories for use with the Blackmagic Cinema Camera. The kit also includes Bescor’s BM-LiON battery and BM-SFB Square Frame mounting bracket. The rig is suitable for mounting on a tripod or for handheld work with the two integrated handgrips.

Each of the two LED-70 lights features 96 individual 5mm LED bulbs for the equivalent output of 70 watts, with native 6500K daylight color temperature. The LED-70 has a range of approximately 30’, and the built-in dimmer can adjust the output from 20 to 100%. The light’s housing includes a slot for mounting either of two included filters, a clear frosted diffusion filter and a 4300K amber color-correction filter.

The included BM-LiON rechargeable lithium-ion battery offers 3 to 4 times more run time than the camera’s internal battery. The battery is rated for more than 500 charge cycles with no memory effect. The BM-EPIC has a capacity of 98WH and operates at between 12 and 16.8 VDC. The battery weighs just 1.32 lb and is enclosed in a canvas pouch with a “military style” clip for attaching to a belt or similar support systems. A battery charger is also included.

The BM-SFB bracket features a series of mounting points along the top and sides of the square, aluminum frame, including 1/4” and 3/8” threaded holes as well as several proprietary mounting points for the two included cold shoes. The camera is mounted via a quick-release plate, and the dual handgrips can be detached and repositioned to suit your needs. A soft carrying case is also included.
