The Compact and Huge-Sounding Klipsch HD Theater 600 System

One of the first loudspeaker companies in the United States, Klipsch has a well-established reputation for delivering excellent-quality speakers and sound equipment, and the recent announcement of the HD Theater 600 system brings a welcome new option for people looking to outfit their homes with a premium 5.1 surround sound system. Consisting of four passive satellite speakers, a dual-woofer center speaker and a 100-watt powered subwoofer, the new HD Theater 600 system is designed to fill medium-sized rooms with rich music, realistic effects and clear dialog. This system features improved IMG long-throw woofers in each of its satellite and center speakers, which provide expanded frequencies that blend seamlessly with the subwoofer.

The big sound provided by the HD Theater 600 system comes from surprisingly compact components. Measuring only six inches tall (152mm) and 3.6-inches wide (91mm), the four satellite speakers feature a tasteful high-gloss finish and come with mounting hardware to attach them to walls. They also all feature ¼-inch-20 threaded sockets to be used with optional floor stands, such as the Sanus HTB3 speaker stands. All of the satellite speakers and the center speaker can be angled and positioned to create an ideal sweet spot for listening. The subwoofer features a variable crossover point and a level knob, which enable you to dial in the amount of bass you want to feel as you consume your favorite music and videos.

The speakers are designed to be mounted horizontally or vertically, and a cradle is included to hold and position the center speaker. Rubber feet are also included for both the speakers and the included mounting hardware to keep the speakers from rattling and vibrating across surfaces when they start pushing out high-volume sound. The HD Theater 600 system requires an A/V receiver to power the center and four satellite speakers, and speaker wire is required to connect the speakers to the receiver. An RCA cable is also required to connect the subwoofer to the receiver.
