Sony SxS PRO+ Memory Cards for 4K Recording

Sony has recently released their new SxS PRO+ memory cards. The new cards are optimized to accommodate Sony’s F5 and F55 CineAlta 4K cameras. SxS PRO+ cards support maximum write speeds of 1.5 Gbps, which enables reliable, high frame rate 4K capture. The new cards are available in 64GB or 128GB capacities. The 128GB SxS Pro+ memory card has sufficient storage space for approximately 20 minutes of recording time in the 4K XAVC Intra 422 60p (600 Mbps) mode.

The SxS PRO+ cards also feature a new controller, which utilizes a more efficient data-writing method that avoids speed degradation when used with compatible Sony cameras. In addition, the cards’ maximum read speed of 1.6 Gbps will expedite post-production workflows by reducing the amount of time spent ingesting footage.
