The Schneider Optics booth is minimal, but it has a couple of cool things set up. First is the iPro Lens system for iPhones. It uses a compact case, with a bayonet-style mount to attach lenses. And it looks nice enough to stay on your phone at all times. It adds some new capabilities to your phone with fisheye, macro, and telephoto options available.
Fujifilm has been busy expanding their X-Series lineup of digital cameras, so we caught up with company representative Kayce Baker to talk about the new X-E2 and XQ1. The X-E2 is a mirrorless body that features a 16.3MP APS-C X-Trans II CMOS sensor. The XQ1 is a compact, pocketable camera with a 12MP 2/3" X-Trans CMOS sensor. Both models feature built-in Wi-Fi for easy file sharing.
David Flores from B&H talks to Richard Schleuning from Zeiss about the new Otus f/1.4 55mm and Touit f/2.8 50 M lenses. The Otus 55mm is already available for pre-order, while the Touit lens shown in this video is a prototype that features a Sony E-mount.
Connecting to external Wi-Fi networks and simultaneous streaming to multiple devices is coming soon in a new CamRanger firmware update. While the wireless capabilities already featured things like focus peaking and time-lapse programming, this update brings impressive new features. The most significant, in my opinion, is using multiple wireless devices. Using a single master device for control, you can now add others, enabling clients and friends to watch the preview image. And using a Wi-Fi network can increase the CamRanger's range.
If you’ve ever risked taking a photo at ISOs higher than 6400, you've probably had experience with trying to remove all the digital noise that crept into your photo. DxO's new PRIME noise reduction has solved this dilemma for you.
Welcome to PhotoPlus! Of course, one of the first things I wanted to see was the new Leica C. It features built-in Wi-Fi connectivity to go along with the Image Shuttle app for smartphones. And I have to say it worked really well, providing full control over camera settings.

We see them every day overhead, and they always make us look up and ponder. The fact that airplanes travel so quickly is something we all connect with. From an artistic point of view, their shape and design are very appealing. These are all factors that have driven me to get as involved with aviation photography as I am with wildlife.

For some photographers, a favorite secret weapon may be a coveted vintage lens, a unique post-production tweak, or an obscure in-camera trick. But if you analyze the work of Stephen Wilkes, the secret arrow in his quiver would likely be a 52,000 pound Condor bucket truck. Recently, I had the pleasure of talking to Stephen about his early mentors in color photography, how an image can carry the subtext of soul, and the ten-foot-wide gorilla in the room—his wildly popular 'Day to Night' series.
