The PDN PhotoPlus Expo took place in New York City, and B&H was everywhere. We were exhibitors at the show (booth #455), and we posted a storm of show updates on B&H Insights, Twitter and Instagram. There was a bunch of compelling new products on display at the show, so we've rounded up the most interesting highlights in this post.
We had the chance to speak to Mike Bubolo from Sony about what are arguably the most exciting new products on display at PhotoPlus 2013: the new a7 and a7R digital cameras. They're the world's first mirrorless full-frame cameras, and they're about half the size and weight of normal-sized DSLRs.
This week in the news: Sony announced the world's first mirrorless full-frame cameras—the a7 and a7R; Nikon announced the world's first Nikon DSLR with built-in Wi-Fi—the new D5300; Panasonic released the Lumix GM1, the world's smallest Micro Four Thirds camera; and late on Thursday night, Fujifilm announced the X-E2 and XQ1 cameras which, at that time, were the newest cameras in the world.
