Thanks for an excellent article.  It's good to put a practical, storytelling perspective around the shapness question, since ultimately it is we, the photographers, who must decide the story we want to tell.  It's the basic skills that enable us to use the technology to convey our messages.  I'm going out to practice holding and focusing!
