David Flores

About me

David Flores is a photographer and filmmaker based in New York City. His most recent film, Blue King, premiered in 2010 at the Derby City Film Festival. His work has been showcased at the Kentucky Center, the Allen R. Hite Gallery, and the Verbal Arts Centre of Northern Ireland. before i say goodbye, his 2007 feature film, played at the Delray Beach International Film Festival, Last Call, Derby City, and Twin Rivers Festivals.

David's photography has appeared on the covers of Mix Magazine, Eritrea, and PLUCK. He has produced commercial work for General Electric, Sawyer House Press, DreamYard, Adelphi University, and many others. In 2008 and 2009, David served as the official performance photographer of The LA Women's Theater Festival in Los Angeles, California.

Committed to arts and technology in education, David is a regular guest of the Kentucky Governor's School for the Arts and will join the faculty of the Maine Workshops in summer 2010. His recent residencies include an Arts/Education exploration in Cuba with the New York-based Center for Cuban Studies (Spring 2009), and a national group residency at The Louisiana Arts Works in New Orleans (Fall 2009). David lives and works in the East Village of New York City.
