Opteka HD Overview

The Opteka SteadyVid SV-HD Camera Stabilizer with quick release plate is designed for DSLR and video cameras weighing up to 6 lb. This compact handheld system gives videographers the ability to create smooth videos while the camera is in motion. It features a camera platform with both x and y adjustments and multiple mounting holes for various camera positions. The weight plate contains six counterweight discs to balance your camera on the stabilizer. These can be added or removed based on your need. The weights are fastened on the weight plate via a 1/4"-20 screw.

The back-and-forth, side-to-side moving SV-HD platform allows for a quick adjustment of horizontal balance, while the disks on the base platform adjust the camera's vertical balance. When properly balanced, the camera floats and the stabilizer is ready to use. It can be extended from 14.6 to 23.6” to adapt to the weight of the camera.

Will this work with the JVC GY-HM170 4K Camcorder?
Asked by: Anonymous
This stabilizer has a load capacity of 6 pounds, so the GY-HM170 should balance well on it.

we're can I get a quick release system form this to use on something else
Asked by: Will H.
I'm afraid not, the quick release system on the SV-HD is proprietary. You could always put another assembly on top of the plate though, such as the Manfrotto 577 Rapid Connect which is compatible with the very popular 501PL plate.

Hi everyone will this take the baseplate of benro Qr14 ??
Asked by: Joe
I'm afraid not. This stabilizer has a propitiatory quick release plate, it will not with a Benro plate.

is there any type of quick release plates that will work on it
Asked by: Will H.
Not that I'm aware of.. More importantly, I lost the screw on the plate the comes with it rendering it virtually useless as I can no longer attach my camera :( Whatever you do, don't lose the screw!

will this balance well with a 5d mark 3? 24-105 and tokina 16-28?

It is designed to balance well for cameras/lenses weighing up to 6lb. If the weight of your camera and lens are less than 6lb then your answer is yes .
