Panasonic HC-X2000 Reviews

Excellent streaming capabilities. Even in low light.

Set this up. Streamed live to YouTube and it worked flawlessly. Got the best results by shooting at 1080p 60. With shutter at 120. The end result on YouTube was fantastic. Even up to the 24mbps data rate. For those that have trouble connecting to YouTube or any streaming platform most likely the issue is that you enter host URL and Stream Key in the same text box separated by a forward slash. Once you get that figured out it is butter.

What are you looking for in a camera?

First, I like like shooting wildlife ( birds mostly ) and occasionally doing a pro video ( making money ) so my needs may not be your needs. I read reviews from others who love or hate the camera. Figure out what you need first, also what you can afford then go shopping. I researched many cameras before deciding on this one. Pros, small light weight, incredible zoom, plenty of high bitrate choices, 4K 60fps, reasonable picture quality in reasonable light for what I would consider a reasonable price. Cons - can't get it to shoot Mp4 format 100 megabits even with a 300 MB/s SDXC card, shoots MOV at 200 megabits no problem but no Mp4? Of course not good in low light. Did I mention the manuals have much to be desired? Took me forever to figure out how to turn the focus peaking on. That being said I won't send camera back because it doesn't like to shoot Mp4's at high bitrate of 100 megabits, the highest bitrates are MOV anyways. But I recommend this camera for people who are looking for great picture quality, great zoom , lots of pro settings for when the need arises. Again, it is not disappointing me.

How do I change the settings so the camera does not auto power off?
Asked by: Zack
Thank you for reaching out. As stated on page 37 of the Operating Manual, the unit will not turn off unless the LCD monitor is closed and the viewfinder is retracted. Keep those open and the camera stays on.

Can you copy SD cards to a hard drive?
Asked by: Karen
The HC-X1000 would allow copying directly from the SD cards in the camera to an external hard drive via a USB connection. Apparently you can't do this with this camera.

I bought this camera about 6 months ago and love it. I use it for depositions, it may be overkill, but is there a way to move, size or change the opacity of the big black box with the time stamp in it? It is more often in the way of the of the witness. It is also a little left of center. Thank you.
Asked by: tom
The size of the characters and the display position of the time stamp varies depending on the recording format. The position to display the time stamp can not be changed.

Panasonic claims that they have tested SD cards up to 128 GB. Is this camcorder able to utilize SD cards larger than 128 GB? Have any third parties tested this?
Asked by: Nick
I have discovered that cards larger than 128 GB do in fact work. I have tested cards up to 1 TB. The time remaining estimate cannot display anything over 999 minutes, but other than that there are no functional problems whatsoever.
