Teradek PRISM FLEX Overview

Encode, stream, and record up to 4K video with the Prism Flex 855 Portable 4K HEVC/H.264 Encoder from Teradek. The Prism Flex allows you to input up to 4K video via HDMI or 12G-SDI and output video via Gigabit Ethernet or Wi-Fi for live monitoring on a LAN, streaming to the Internet, or streaming to a remote destination over a cellular network. It supports encoding high-quality, low-bandwidth HEVC/H.265 and H.264 codecs as well as up to 4:2:2 10-bit HDR video.

The 12G-SDI and HDMI inputs can accept up to 4K resolution video and any resolution that is accepted by either input can be streamed live over hardwired Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or the dual USB ports that can be used to connect cellular modems. The Prism Flex also supports cellular bonding, so you can ensure a strong transmission by bonding both connections. You can also utilize the integrated SD card slot for recording your stream, or you can upload automatically to the cloud. The unit can be managed and monitored using the Prism App for iOS and Android to control resolution, bitrate, and bonding settings.

I've used various Teradek encoders over the years, from the VidiuPro to the VidiuGo. The Prism Flex is different in that you primarily operate it through your laptop/computer, as compared to toggling through like the previous encoders. Works great so far, tech support from Teradek is excellent. This encoder does get incredibly hot when running, but that doesn't seem to affect its performance in any way. I give it a 4 star rating instead of a 5 because it is more technical to learn how to operate it. The previous Teradek encoders were so simple to use, but technology forces us to learn the latest stuff.   I stream my recordings to CORE cloud. My post-editor can download the video and edit it at his home. The work-flow works well for me.

Yes, when using the Teradek Prism Flex 855 Portable 4K HEVC/H.264 Encoder and the RTMPS protocol you will be able to stream directly to Youtube.
