Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC Lens for Nikon F with AE Chip
Key Features
  • Nikon F Mount Lens/FX Format
  • Aperture Range: f/1.4 to f/22
  • One Hybrid Aspherical Element
  • Ultra Multi-Coating
An ideal portrait-length prime, the Nikon F mount 85mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC from Rokinon pairs a bright, fast f/1.4 maximum aperture with a short-telephoto focal length to suit portraiture and other applications where shallow depth of field is desired. This manual focus lens incorporates one hybrid aspherical element to control chromatic aberrations for increased clarity and even sharpness and illumination. An Ultra Multi-Coating has also been applied to lens elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for increased contrast and color neutrality. This lens is also characterized by an internal focusing design, which maintains the overall length during use, as well as an 8-blade rounded diaphragm for a smooth bokeh quality.

question

I'm interested in the 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical for Nikon w/focus confirm chip. Problem is that I don't know if my D3100 has the chip. The manual has been less than helpful.
Asked by: Anonymous
A focus chip is in the lens not the camera. This lens has one so it will confirm the focus when you manually focus.

Anybody using this for astrophotography?

Anybody using this for astrophotography?
Asked by: Jerry
While this lens can certainly pull in plenty of light due to its large aperture, a wide angle lens would be more ideal for astrophotography, such as the Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC Lens For Nikon with AE Chip, B&H # RO1428NC. https://bhpho.to/3iuSlWY
