The XPS 11 XPS11-9231CFB 11.6" Multi-Touch Ultrabook Computer from Dell uses a patent-pending hinge design that allows you to fold the screen a full 360°, turning the XPS 11 from a laptop to a tablet in one fluid motion. The XPS 11 measures just 0.6" thin and weighs just 2.5 pounds, thanks to its machined aluminum and carbon fiber body.
The 11.6" UltraSharp QHD display of the XPS 11 features a 2560 x 1440 native resolution, which is 3.5 times the resolution of standard HD. It still maintains the 16:9 aspect ratio so 720p and 1080p HD content scale appropriately. The display also features touch support so you'll be able to utilize the multi-touch gestures incorporated into Windows 8. You can swipe, tap, and resize apps at your preference. The screen also has edge-to-edge Gorilla Glass NBT for reliable scratch resistance.
The system is powered by a dual-core 4th generation Haswell 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5-4200Y processor. It also has 4GB of onboard 1600 MHz DDR3L RAM, a 256GB solid state drive, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, an integrated webcam and microphone. There are also built-in Dell 2.0 speakers with Waves MaxxAudio 5 technology. The XPS 11 also has a solid-surface touch keyboard with backlit keys.
Windows 8 (64-bit) is the installed operating system. Windows 8 replaces the traditional Start menu with a redesigned Start screen. The Start screen features tiles, which provide notifications in real-time. Windows 8 also focuses more on cloud storage as well as apps, which can be downloaded from the Windows Store. Windows 8 provides a unique user experience that differs from previous versions of Windows.
