Onkyo TX-NR535 overview

  • 1Description

The Onkyo TX-NR535 5.2-Channel Network AV Receiver delivers robust multi-channel sound. This 5.2-channel receiver supports dual subwoofer outputs and delivers up to 115W per channel at 6 ohms for dynamic audio playback. Built-in Bluetooth allows you to wirelessly connect to other Bluetooth-enabled audio sources such as computers, smartphones and tablets. Onboard Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity gives you the ability to stream music from Internet radio sources and use DLNA technology to share content with compatible networked devices. You can also connect audio high-resolution audio sources to the receiver's front panel USB.

The Onkyo TX-NR535 has six HDMI inputs for connecting audio and video sources. Additionally, this receiver supports 3D and 4K video pass-through over HDMI. There is also a digital optical and two digital coaxial connections for interfacing additional audio sources. Onkyo also offers a free remote app for controlling your receiver from a smartphone or tablet. Built-in high-resolution audio support allows you to take advantage of dynamic surround sound formats like DTS-HD and DolbyTrueHD.

Stream from Smartphone and Tablet
For lossless or high-resolution audio streaming, just tap on the Onkyo Remote App icon on your smartphone and find locally stored music for streaming. With this feature, your receiver switches on automatically and selects your preferred playback mode.
Stream Hi-Res Audio from PC and NAS
Use the remote app to quickly locate and stream your 192/24 and 96/24 hi-res albums from PC or NAS.
Built-In Internet Radio and Streaming
This receiver includes support for Spotify, AUPEO!, Pandora, Slacker TuneIn, Deezer and more. You can search for available music using the free Onkyo remote app. Please check with the manufacturer for region availability.
Play Lossless Music from USB
The front-panel USB port plays audio formats from mass-storage-class drives. As well as compressed files, there's support for FLAC, WAV, ALAC and DSD. You can also connect a PC, smartphone, or music player using one of the many digital and analog inputs.
Remote Control App for Smartphone and Tablet
The free Onkyo Remote app gets your system up and running quickly. Major playback controls, speaker adjustments, listening mode/input source selections are accessible. Tap the music icon for internet radio or to hear the music stored on your smart mobile, PC, or NAS. The Onkyo Remote app is compatible with select iPhone/iPod and Android device.
Fast Switching and Adjustment
The Home menu is mainly for detailed adjustment and setup (such as configuring your AV receiver remote to control all the components in your system, or to assign specific listening modes to different inputs). But if you just want to quickly boost the center level, switch DSP modes, or change sources, the "Q" button overlays a transparent menu on screen and lets you quickly make adjustments without interrupting the program.
Hi-Fi Power and Fidelity
WRAT (Wide Range Amplifier Technology) is designed to handle high-current sound, as well as control speaker impedance fluctuates and clipping. The receiver uses a large high-power transformer to drive discrete, low-negative-feedback amps that cut distortion.
Phase-Matching Bass Enhancement
PM Bass optimizes low frequencies while preserving mid-range clarity. It counters phase shifting (which generally occurs in the zone occupied by vocals) by synchronizing the timing of different frequencies. The result is deep, well-defined bass that won't blur vocals or strings.
Hybrid Standby
HDMI passthrough and network connectivity are maintained while the receiver is powered down. You can still use your TV and other connected devices when you don't want to turn on the receiver. The TX-NR535 is also compliant with the Smart Grid system
Preview Your HD Video Sources
Video switching is made easy with InstaPrevue technology. Press the Home button, select InstaPrevue, and video thumbnails overlay on the program you're watching, allowing you to preview content on any component connected via HDMI. For example, the overlaid video thumbnails help you keep an eye on a cable channel while you're watching a Blu-ray.
AccuEQ Room Calibration
Once you've plugged in your speakers, connect the included mic and wait a few moments as AccuEQ measures things such as speaker distance, type, crossover, and output, taking into account any reflections from your walls and floor. The system then optimizes the frequency response so you can enjoy balanced surround sound regardless of room shape or furnishing.
