The Ewa-Marine VMXhousing is manufactured from double laminated PVC and has an optical glass port. It is rated for dives of up to 33 feet (10m) depth.

It has a pair of non-corrosive and seawater resistant clamping rails which fit together for sealing. They tighten by means of three screw knobs.
This housing accommodates a maximum lens diameter of 2.95" (75mm).
The housing is designed to fit the Sony HC1, JVC GR-DV3000 and the Panasonic NV-MX2 and NV-MX8 digital camcorders. Other camcorders that are smaller than 8.27 x 3.15 x 6.10" (210 x 80 x 155mm) will also fit in the housing.
