Capture images and video at depths up to 200' beneath the surface with Ikelite's ULTRA Compact Underwater Housing for your Fujifilm FinePix XP30 or XP50 digital camera. The enclosure allows the camera's built-in flash to fire in order to provide illumination and, more importantly, trigger an optional AutoFlash AF35 strobe wirelessly for brighter, more vibrant and colorful images. The housing includes a diffuser to soften the light of the camera's flash and a deflector to redirect it towards an external strobe.

Ergonomic mechanical controls, including push-buttons and a knurled knob, afford access to all camera functions. Built for durability, the housing is made in the USA from injection-molded, corrosion-resistant polycarbonate, which is clear to allow you to monitor the O-ring seal and camera. Two 12-24 threaded mounts on the bottom of the housing allow for the secure attachment of an optional tray with handles for improved balance and attachment points for lighting arms.

The housing features a built-in lens port with a flat, optical glass front element. Optional, external color-correction filters may be added to help restore hues that are absorbed underwater. Additionally, optional add-on conversion lenses of the wide-angle or macro variety can also be attached to restore a greater angle of coverage or enable better close-ups with more clarity and detail, respectively.

Construction Details
  • Features a depth rating of 200'
  • Simply close side latch and see o-ring form a watertight seal
  • Constructed by hand in USA from injection-molded, corrosion-resistant polycarbonate, which is clear to allow you to monitor the O-ring seal and camera
  • Nearly neutral buoyancy in fresh water
  • Drop-in camera loading for quick and easy setup
Strobe Connection and Operation
  • Camera's built-in flash can be used for illumination
  • More importantly, built-in flash can trigger optional Ikelite AutoFlash AF35 strobe wirelessly for brighter, more vibrant and colorful images
  • Housing includes a diffuser to soften light of camera's flash and a deflector to redirect it towards external strobe
  • External strobe highly recommended for better color and image quality and reduction/elimination of backscatter, glare, and hard shadows
  • Built-in flash generally only effective within a few feet of subject, while external strobe is much more powerful and allows for increased range
  • AF35 Features:
  • Built-in slave sensor
  • TTL replication and manual exposure modes
  • 10 TTL settings and 6 manual settings
  • Power Rating: 35 watt-sec
  • Guide Number: 28' above water and 16' underwater at ISO 100
  • Daylight-balanced color temperature of 5700K
  • Coverage angle of 70°, or 80° with supplied diffuser
Controls and Handling
  • Ergonomic mechanical controls, including push-buttons and a knurled knob, afford access to all camera functions
  • Controls are large enough to be operated easily while wearing gloves
  • Two 12-24 threaded mounts on bottom of housing allow for secure attachment of optional tray with handles for improved balance and attachment points for lighting arms
Lens Port
  • Features a built-in lens port with a flat, optical glass front element and 2.2" diameter
  • Optional, external color-correction filters may be added to help restore hues that are absorbed underwater
  • Available Ikelite #6441.31 filter for tropical blue water and #6441.71 filter for green water are effective in shallow, sunny conditions
  • Optional, add-on, wide-angle or macro conversion lenses can be attached to restore greater angle of coverage or enable better close-ups with more clarity and detail, respectively
  • Wide-angle lens gets you much closer to your subject while still fitting everything in frame
  • By reducing amount of water between subject and camera lens, both types of conversion lenses give you more colorful images and also minimize distortion for greater crispness and clarity
  • Port accepts 67mm threaded #6420 Ikelite W-20, Inon Type II, and Epoque lenses via #9306.78 port adapter
  • Attach bayonet-style Inon macro lenses, as well as UWL-100 28AD, UWL-105AD, and UFL-165AD lenses, using #9306.85 adapter
  • Vignetting (shading in corners of image) will be present in widest setting when using external accessory lens, but this effect can be eliminated by zooming in slightly
  • Port designed to accept all adapters for short ports with 2.2" diameters
