  • 1Description

The compact, stylish and ultra-quiet Apple Mac mini is equipped with 4GB of DDR3 internal memory, 500GB of HDD storage space, and a powerful 2.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 processor. It utilizes innovative microprocessor technology to provide users with a useful Mac desktop computer that fits in the palm of your hand and still includes all the same fruitful favorites and fun features found in the larger and more expensive Apple iMac and Mac pro. Simply put: your Mac mini is a fully functional, flexible and absolutely affordable alternative to large desktop towers; it has enough power, memory and storage to handle all of your daily computing needs for both work and play. Did we mention that it fits in the palm of your hand or that it comes standard with Apple's iLife '11? Plus, the Mac mini even features Apple's intuitive and novel Mac OS X, which is advertised as an operating system that will truly change the way you experience everything on your Mac computer.

The Mac mini ships without a monitor, keyboard or mouse, which means you can add and customize the system's peripherals to suit your specific needs. However, the mini does come standard with Apple's iLife '11. With iLife, you get a complete suite of digital creativity applications, all pre-installed on the Mac mini. Easy enough for anyone to use, iLife will help you edit your home movies, organize digital photos, and compose original music. The Mac mini also features an HDMI output port, which makes it a great option for users who would like a home theater computer for Internet video streaming and big-screen computer gaming. An optional remote control is also available, but sold separately.

This Mac mini model is powered by a 2.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 Processor with 3MB on-chip shared L3 cache. The system includes 4GB of internal 1333MHz DDR3 memory, as well as a 5400RPM hard disk drive that features a 500GB storage capacity. It's also equipped with an excellent AMD Radeon HD 6630M Graphics Processor with 256MB of GDDR5 memory, which supports stunning HD graphics. For wireless communications, the Mac mini is outfitted with WLAN 802.11 n WiFi connectivity, but it's compatible with IEEE 802.11 a/b/g wireless networking as well. It's also equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology for wireless data transfers and connection with Bluetooth-enabled devices.

For wired connectivity, your Mac mini features a 10/100/1000 BASE-T Ethernet RJ-45 jack; four USB 2.0 ports that support 480Mbps data transfers; a FireWire 800 port that supports transfer rates up to 800Mbps; a Thunderbolt port capable of ultra-fast 10Gbps transfer speeds; an HDMI port for output to your HDTV or to a computer monitor using the included HDMI-to-DVI adapter cable; a 3.5 mm stereo line-in audio jack and a 3.5 mm stereo line-out/headphone audio jack. There's an SDXC memory card slot as well. Plus, the system supports dual display and video mirroring, an Apple iPhone headset with microphone (sold separately), and HDMI multi-channel audio output. There's even a built-in speaker for enjoying your favorite music from iTunes.

The portable desktop computer runs using the intuitive Mac OS X operating system. The user-friendly OS features Time Machine Backup for automatically backing up system data to an external hard drive. OS X also includes iTunes, Safari, Mail, Address Book, iCal, FaceTime, Photo Booth, Mission Control, Launchpad, AirDrop, Resume, Auto Save, Versions, Quick Look, Spotlight, QuickTime, and much more. The innovative operating system supports intuitive natural scrolling and full-screen applications as well. Plus, if you're thirsty for more apps and want to customize your system to your specific needs, you'll have access to the Mac App Store. You'll be able to expand the functionality of your computer system by browsing through the multitude of productivity applications, games, and other software that is available for purchase. The software in the store is curated by Apple, so you can be sure that it is free of malware and safe to use. Apple even notifies you automatically when updated versions of your favorite programs and applications are available for download.

Mac OS X

Hardware & Software Made for Each Other
Since the software on every Mac is created by the same company that makes the Mac, you get a fully integrated system in which everything works together perfectly. Mac OS X works with the processor in your Mac to deliver the best possible performance and it also promotes a healthy planet by dimming the screen in low-light conditions and even regulating processor activity between keystrokes. These features help reduce your Mac mini's carbon footprint
Easy to Use & Incredibly Powerful
From the desktop you see when you start up your Mac mini to the applications you use every day - everything within OS X is designed to be simple and intuitive. This kind of intelligent user-friendly interface does require some seriously advanced technologies and OS X is loaded with them. Not only is it built on a rock-solid, time-tested UNIX foundation that provides unparalleled stability, it also delivers incredible performance, stunning graphics and industry-leading support for Internet standards
Easy Access to All of Your Apps
Working and playing on your Mac mini is all about apps. OS X makes it simple to find and open those apps fast. Plus, the Mac Dock is a handy place on your desktop for storing and launching your favorite apps; it also makes switching between them a breeze. The Dock also includes Stacks, which are folders that give you quick access to documents, files, and downloads. Launchpad is the full-screen home for all the apps on your Mac mini. It lets you arrange them the way you want, group them in folders, and delete them with ease. Apps purchased from the Mac App Store automatically appear in Launchpad as well. This lets you browse thousands of apps and start using the ones you buy right away
Find, Organize & Share Files Fast
The Finder gives you easy access to all the files on your system. It lets you find, organize, and access practically everything on your Mac mini - including applications, files, folders, discs and shared computers on your network. You can sort files by kind, application, date modified, date added, or size. With so many files on your computer, finding a specific one can be a challenge, but features like Spotlight and Quick Look make locating the file you're searching for effortless - even if you don't know the file name. Spotlight can search for a phrase or word within the file and Quick Look lets you preview the file without opening it. You can even share a file with a person nearby; all you have to do is drag and drop the file into AirDrop and the file is sent to them wirelessly
See Everything Running on Your Mac mini Instantly
Mac OS X offers system-wide support for gorgeous, full-screen apps that use every square inch of Mac mini's individually customized display. You can have multiple full-screen apps open at once, as well as multiple apps in windows. It's also easy to switch between full-screen and desktop views. The system's Mission Control even gives you a bird's-eye view of all your windows and full-screen apps. Plus, it allows you to instantly navigate amongst them
It Does The Saving for You
No more manual saving! Auto Save automatically saves your work when you're still working - without you having to anything. Plus, Versions creates a novel version of a document each time you open it and every hour while you're working. It saves only the differences between successive versions, so the impact on your disk drive is minimal. Just open Versions to see the current document next to a cascade of previous versions. You can copy and paste between versions or revert to an earlier version. And when you share a document, you share only the most recent copy
Built for Compatibility
The versatility and power of Mac OS X helps you Mac mini fit in just about anywhere - including Windows networks. In fact, Mac OS X lets you transfer files, photos and other data from a Windows PC to your Mac mini easily. If you want to run Windows on your Mac, you can do that too; Mac OS X features built-in support for the latest version of Microsoft Exchange Server, so you can use your Mac at home and at work and keep all your messages, meetings, and contacts in one place. The clever operating system works with virtually all of today's digital cameras, printers and other peripherals without the need to manually download separate drivers. Plus, it opens popular file types such as JPG, MP3, PDF, Microsoft Word files, Excel files and even PowerPoint documents
Highly Secure by Design
Mac OS X doesn't get PC viruses and with virtually no effort on your part, the operating system protects itself from other malicious applications. Because every Mac mini ships with a secure configuration, you don't have to worry about changing complex settings in order to stay safe. Even better, Mac OS X won't slow you down with constant security alerts and sweeps. Apple responds quickly to online threats and automatically delivers security updates. Plus, with FileVault 2 in Mac OS X, all the data on your Mac mini is protected by powerful encryption
Reliable from The Very Start
Just about everything you do on a Mac - even upgrading to the latest version of the OS - is safe and reliable. Mac OS X checks your applications to make sure they're compatible and sets aside any programs known to be incompatible. If a power outage interrupts your installation, OS X can start again without losing any data. Best of all, upgrading doesn't require reformatting your drive; you keep all your compatible applications, files, and settings. If something goes wrong when you're using your Mac mini, Time Machine is there to restore your data if needed
Accessible innovation
Mac OS X comes standard with a wide range of assisting technologies that help people with disabilities experience what Mac has to offer, including many features you won't find in other operating systems - at any price. For example, built-in VoiceOver screen-reading technology, available in over 20 languages, makes it possible for those who are blind or have low vision to control their computers using key commands. It also offers out-of-the-box support for more than 40 braille displays (including Bluetooth displays) and many other accessibility features, such as dynamic full-screen magnification, playback of closed captions, and a scalable screen
