The Axis Communications Q1604-E Day/Night Outdoor Network Camera is housed in a casing that is strong enough to withstand up to 20 Joules, which is equivalent to a 5 kg weight being dropped on the camera from a height of 40 cm. Furthermore, the camera’s aluminum casing is IP66- and NEMA 4X-rated. This means that camera is well-protected against corrosion, windblown dust and rain, splashing water, hose-directed water, and damage from external ice formation. The Arctic Temperature Control ensures that the camera can function in adverse weather conditions as low as -40°F (-40°C) and also to start up at that temperature following a power failure. Additionally, the Q1604-E camera with an integrated dehumidifying membrane eliminates any humidity caught in the camera casing during installation.
Equipped with a 1/3" RGB CMOS sensor, delivers clear and crisp images in 1 MP/HDTV 720p resolution. Featuring progressive scan technology, rest assured that you will get smooth image capture for scenes with fast moving objects .For video compression, this network camera transmits multiple streams in H.264 and MJPEG video formats at either full frame rates or individually optimized for different quality needs and bandwidth constraints. Defined by its Day/Night ICR (infrared cut filter removal) function, the network camera switches between color and B&W as per changes in ambient lighting, ensuring accurate color reproduction in daylight and enhanced B&W images at night.
With the Remote Back Focus function, you can easily fine tune the focus from a computer. Focus Assistant enables you to set the focus, and a flashing green LED indicates that the image is in focus. A unique feature of this camera is its pixel counter function, which calculates the number of pixels contained in a given part of the image, for example a person's face. This is an important feature for satisfying certain jurisdictions requiring proof of resolution before an image can be submitted for evidence.
Intelligent video capabilities include video motion detection, audio detection, and active tampering alarm. The camera supports an open API (Application Programming Interface) for software integration, including the ONVIF specification for interoperability between network video products. Included with this camera is a High PoE that allows power to be routed over the same Ethernet cable used to communicate data. This eliminates the need to run a separate power cable to the camera, saving time and labor costs. Additionally, it has an SD slot for on-board storage of the recorded footage.
Excellent Image Quality
1/3" RGB CMOS sensor along with 2.8 - 8mm varifocal DC-iris lens, delivers clear and crisp images in 1 MP/HDTV 720p resolution
Progressive scan technology delivers blur free images at 30 fps
Wide Dynamic Range technology with dynamic capture allows to provide homogeneous images, without too dark or too bright parts
Backlight compensation adjusts video gain to correct the exposure when the object is in front of a bright light source
White balance feature adjusts the red, green, and blue colors taking a standard white reference to get clear images
Day & Night ICR Function: Switches between color and B&W as per changes in ambient lighting, ensuring accurate color reproduction in daylight and enhanced B&W images at night
Remote Back Focus and Pixel Counter
Focus Assistant enables you to set the focus; flashing green LED indicates that the image is in focus
Remote Back Focus function allows you to easily fine-tune the focus from a computer
Helps the installer ensure the pixel resolution of an object meets the regulatory or specific customer requirements
Optimized Use of Bandwidth and Storage
Multiple H.264 and MPEG streams can be provided simultaneously either in full frame rate or individually optimized for different quality needs and bandwidth constraints
SD/SDHC card slot for on-board storage for recording images or small video clips
Video motion detection feature compares the current frame with a pre-determined standard frame to accurately trigger an alarm if motion is detected
API (Application Program Interface) supports an open API for software integration, including the ONVIF specification and the VAPIX and Axis Camera Application Platform from Axis Communications
Includes features such as privacy masking, text and image overlay, exposure control, and mirroring of images
Text and Image Overlay: A static image superimposed on video image can be used to provide extra information or for masking part of video image
Outdoor-Ready Installation with Arctic Temperature Control
IP-66 rated weather-proof camera with an integrated dehumidifying membrane, eliminating any humidity caught in the camera casing during installation
Arctic Temperature Control ensures that the camera not only functions at -40°F (-40°C) but also starts up at that temperature following a power failure
A sun shield is also included for effective protection against reflections from sunlight
IP-66 / NEMA 4x-rated housing ensuring uninterrupted surveillance in exposed and high-risk locations
IK10 rating implies that the camera can withstand an impact of up to 20 Joules (equivalent to a 5 kg weight being dropped on the camera from a height of 40 cm)
The camera enables easy mounting of an infrared illuminator under the enclosure
Password Protection restricts access to unauthorized persons
IP Filtering restricts access to one or more user groups; user groups can be created with an IP address range being defined for each group
Digest Authentication uses a system where the network server authenticates a user request through a domain controller and then grants access to authorized users only
User Access Log consists of those who actually accessed the images on the network
HTTPS (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol over SSL) protects streaming data transmission across the network
Power over Ethernet
Built-in 802.3af compliant PoE allows the camera to receive power directly from its network interface, making installation possible without the need for additional wiring and cables
High PoE midspan allows power to be routed through the same cable used to communicate data
