An affordable mid-range laptop is within your reach with the NV52L08u 15.6" Notebook Computer (Red) by Gateway. Although the bright red color may give the impression that this computer is based more on looks than specs, that is just not the case.

Under this red riding hood is a powerful AMD Series A6-4400M chip running at a crisp 2.6GHz, supplemented by a 2MB cache. It uses the A70M Fusion chipset on its board, assuring even faster speeds with overclocking. 4GBs of DDR3 SDRAM (upgradeable to 8GBs) lend a hand with the system speed. And all that data you transfer back and forth over the dual cores can be stored on the 500GB SATA hard drive.

A real treat in this unit is the graphic muscle, supplied by a Radeon HD 7520G card with 1GB of dedicated memory. That should be able to power through most of your high end games and applications. The card goes hand in hand with the LED backlit 15.6" TCT color LCD Ultrabright WXGA screen, which has a native resolution of 1366x768, and capable of output of up to 16.7 million colors.

As for web productivity, you can't pass on the integrated webcam and microphone, the Gigabit Ethernet and Wireless b/g/n capabilities, or the VGA and HDMI ports. The 5 hour runtime on the Lithium-ion battery is also a plus, as is the classy chassis and the memory card reader.

The NV52L08u 15.6" Notebook Computer is a bargain notebook with expensive features and looks. If you're a real wolf for a bargain, then look no farther than under this little red riding hood.
