Zacuto's Blackmagic Camera Tripod Rig accepts the Blackmagic Camera, a follow focus, a matte box, and multiple 1/4", 3/8", 10/32", and 15mm accessories, and, with these attached, efficiently mounts onto a tripod.
The foundation of the rig is a Mini Baseplate. It's what accepts the camera and it's what mounts the tripod. It features a 1/4" screw and a pin for the camera and both 1/4" and 3/8" threads for tripods. It has rods running through it and a cheese plate sitting on it. The rods support the follow focus and matte box, and the baseplate is adjustable vertically and horizontally to align with these. The cheese plate supports the additional accessories, including batteries -- both 3-stud and V-mount, audio receivers and transmitters, and articulating arms, a good one of which to consider is Zacuto's sturdily-built Zamerican Arm.
The rods running through the baseplate are a combination of the plate's 12" rods and 4.5" ones additionally connected to these. The cheese plate sitting on the baseplate is the Horizontal Zwiss Plate. It can be left laying flat as is or can be stood up vertically, in which case accessories can be mounted to both its sides. The plate has numerous 1/4", 3/8", 10/32" screw-holes and four 15mm rod openings. All these go through from one side to the other.
The final part of the rig is a Top Handle that attaches to the top of the camera. With the camera detached from the rest of the rig, the handle can be used to get low angle shots with. The handle is sideways-adjustable within the 5 inches of its base and is removable from the base by quick-release lever. The base is what actually attaches to the camera and can be left attached on it at all times.
The rig furthermore is open to optional upgrades. For example, to its Top Handle you can connect one or more Z-Rail Slide Mounts, and via these you can add extension rods at the top of the camera.
