"Excellent dovetail...I received the dovetail, and it is really amazing, solid material, heavy, and quality design, it is really too large but that isnt a problem, I can order smaller, and this one can be used anyway, thanks B&H to sell it and thanks Losmandy to produce it."See more

"Solid fixer...A lifesaver...I was a little upset that I had to pay $ for a replacement QR Plate, but it is a quality built and heavy duty plate that won't be easily broken....Now in the field, I recommend, remove the camera and plate off the ballhead, take the plate off the camera, turn the ballhead upside down and push the QR plate and it should go right in."See more

"Love it....The best...As I also use the same tripod for a spotting scope, which also has a dedicated mounting plate, I just leave the plates on the respective equipment and it only takes seconds to switch....After I had read Scott Kelby's Digital Photography and knew about BH Photo Video of New York,I found out that in the realm of photography and accessories we can count on BH PhotoVideo and buy anything from BH PhotoVideo and can be sure that we will get the right thing. That why recently I ordered an extra plate for my manfrotto head, and I got the right one."See more

"Love it....Good make...On most shoots I use a 501 pan-head on the tripod and owning multiple camera plates for the 501 means that I can keep a separate plate with each different camera (or mounted to the jib unit) and not have to worry about forgetting to bring a plate to the shoot locations....It's a good idea to have a spair quick release plate, never know when shuch as in my case a client returns a tripod and has no idea there was an item missing."See more

"Love it!...love it....I strongly recommend to everyone buying a tripod that they buy a spare plate at the same time....I am on and off a tripod a lot and wanted something that I could mount with one hand, hear a click and know it was solid."See more

"Love it!...Good buy!...I usually leave this on my camera, but I took it off recently and misplaced it - thanks to B&H ... I was up and running again in just a few days......I bought several of these so I could leave a platform on each of my cameras, allowing me to switch which camera I have on my tripod quickly."See more

It is the ideal tool to make precise positioning movements to achieve the perfect framed shot, for macro photography, for QTVR, and other precise copy/repro work. This plate has finger-tip control for ultra-fine positioning, but has a simple lock-release lever for fast set-up.
Two plates can be interlocked at 90° for full lateral/forward/back movement (over 4.7"). Made of extruded aluminum, the plate has 1/4"-20 and 3/8" holes and screws for tripod and camera mounting.
Replaces old part number 3419.
"Not bad...Good stuff...I works well enough but there is a bit of a play in the slider and when you use it for macro as I do you have to be very careful because even the slightest move will shift you focus....Another bit of nit picking, to avoid play in the mechanics everything locks down via one screw on the side, unlike traditional geared heads that provide controlled movement at all times, this micro positioning plate cannot when it's tension/lock screw in place."See more

You can attach the quick release plate to the camera's base at all times; the item allows the user to quickly and easily attach or remove the camera from the tripod without having to waste time fumbling with the threaded mount.
"Thank you...Fits fine...Good to have in a second camera as a permanent attachment to avoid having to change plates when placing a second camera in the tripod....the pin in front does not push in to mount on a regular camera you have to use a tiny screwdriver to push it out and hope you don't lose it, if you want to use it on a video camera again."See more

"Love it!...Rely good...As other reviews have state it does tuck nicely into the Rapid Box case, and you can leave the screw in the post when folding up the umbrella to avoid losing it.This product is well made and works as advertised, but I'm giving it 4 stars because 1) it's overpriced for a small metal plate with a single screw, and 2) it should be included with the $200 Rapid Box....With the plate in place, the light modifier delivers a quality of light more akin to that of a beauty dish."See more

"Perfect !...Solid Fit...All in all I am very happy with the plateness of the plate and the screwness of the screw - my only real complaint is the screwness of the price, which I find a bit painful due to the fact that you are after all purchasing a metal plate and a screw....I see my mistake now, which I did buying dedicated plate from RRS for 70-200mm f2.8 IS II L before buying P-20 (By the way P-20 is bit longer than RRS plate for 70-200mm f2.8 IS II L) Overall it is matching quality of RRS and Kirk I like versality of this product as it can be used on many lenses."See more
B&H # WIQRPP5 MFR # P-5
The P-5 plate has a thin, dense layer of textured rubber upon its uppermost surface, which grips the bottom of cameras but is so dense and thin that it maintains a solid feel similar to a metal-to-camera connection. Below the rubber, the top metal surface of the P5 is machined to ensure that frictional force is concentrated on the plate's outer portions, which provides the maximum mechanical advantage to help resist twisting.
While the P5 works on nearly all camera bodies, it is brilliantly suited for use with cameras which have metal skeletons and metal tripod sockets. With plastic-bodied camera bodies, one must not apply excessive torque to the plate when attaching to the camera.
"Good buy...I like it....I definitely prefer the camera specific plates from Really Right Stuff, but if I have to use a generic/universal plate for something, I think this one is a good choice....I like these b/c when I upgrade cameras I don't have to also upgrade a quick release plate."See more
