"it's ok...love it...good things: Really is a solid construction Very easy to handle Perfectly fulfills its function One of the best on the market good price Cons: It's a bit heavy to carry in a hand Recommended shoe or it will be very difficult to calibrate each mount Support a lot like a light stand or tripod...I am using a camera on the heavier end of the weight allowance and it is handling it pretty well... The reason I give it 4 stars is because it CAN make some sudden adjustments when filming, but these ticks are not frequent."See more

"Love it...Love it!...And I found that the Ronin-M app worked on an iPhone while the Movi-5 required me to buy a separate tablet which could be bought for $125 but still, another $125 on top of the doubling of initial investment seems too much to pay if an alternate solution could be found....I use this primarily for music videos and live gigs and it's a great bit of kit - takes a bit of getting used to so give yourself a weekend to play before a shoot."See more

"Love it!...Very cool...I owned Moza Air for few weeks, it impressed me a lot, I like the wireless controller with so many functions, especially for the mimic motion control, after pairing the controller to the gimbal, pitch, roll and yaw movements can be controlled smoothly in every direction fast or slow by just simply move the controller, so I can control the gimbal even I am not holding it, it also can control the start/stop recording of my 70D camera....I had it for a couple weeks and find out this gadget is very friendly to the fresh user, lighter than the Ronin which I tried from a local shop."See more

For quick, convenient adjusting of your camera's settings, the Crane-2 provides an interface comparable to those found on most cameras. Two large buttons, and two smaller ones, on the handgrip are pressed or rotated to scroll through and choose parameters. An LED screen above the controls enables you to quickly and easily monitor your settings. The Crane-2 offers improved motor torque, response speed, and image stabilization over earlier Zhiyun models, enabling smooth, reliable moves.
Shoot up to a whopping maximum of 18 hours—the Crane-2's three 18650-type batteries provide 6000mAh of capacity. Select Sony cameras may be charged through the gimbal, eliminating time otherwise spent swapping out camera batteries. Additional Crane-2 features include a Manfrotto-standard quick release plate for rapid camera mounting, and a "slow-fall" function that protects your camera from a sudden drop when the stabilizer is powered down.
"Not Bad...worth it...The only place you MAY be able to rest it's on the focus wheel...but moving that thing around you can tell a lot of wear may slowly loosen is up (it's held be a screw down the center....The thumb controller is also way more sensitive than I would like, and there doesn't appear to be a way to adjust this, so a smooth shift is EXTREMELY difficult to achieve and manual control in locked mode is basically out of the question."See more

This system provides camera stability during movement for dynamic and subjective shots. It utilizes a balancing system that dampens the user's body movement, providing a smooth floating image usually achieved with more expensive equipment.
"Very nice...Love it!!...If you have wind expect frustration.I am going to experiment by reducing the counter weight slightly and will probably grind down a couple of the supplied weights so I can extend the post a fraction.I am not shooting feature films however and it does the job, so I can't gripe too much and I would buy it again....If you will not be using the item often this may be acceptable but I would recommend something different if you will be using a stabilizer often."See more

"5 Stars!...Great tool...I've a Merlin Steadicam which served me well, but this gyro stabilized Pilotfly is less sensitive to wind, can tilt up and down as needed, and even be carried on a monopod....After tweaking with it for about a month now, I finally have it running very well, but it was not easy to set it up for such a light camera with limited image stabilization."See more

"Its cool...nice toy....I bought and used in a couple of short movies where dolly is not available due to space, time, expense. Can easily handle a DSLR Canon 70D with external Rode but not much more as in description of the product. The 'ball' is distanced from the plate with two hand-cut rubber squares which I oiled and in addition added a bit of a space (paper) between the ball holding cup and a mount plate for less pressure....I bought this stabilizer based on a recommendation."See more

The camera is attached to the stage via a mounting plate that has a friction pad to securely mount the camera with or without use of the camera locating pin. The plate also provides additional front/back adjustments and has a safety pin to prevent the camera from sliding off the stage during adjustment.
The stage features a scale to reference the position of the plate so that rebalancing time is minimized when attaching the camera. Low backlash screw drives and internal dovetail guides ensure secure positioning of the camera when in use, and the built-in tilt and roll bubble levels make balancing easy in both axes.
The gimbal assembly with six precision ball bearings can take a minimum static load of 57 lb in any axis. The main operator control ring gives you roll, tilt, and pan control whereas the second ring below the gimbal controls only pan. The gimbal extension is used for cameras weighing less than about 2 lb.
The SmoothTouch technology provides you with controlled friction (adjustable for different camera weights) to reduce roll and tilt motion artifacts. It also reduces the initial stabilizer motions from acceleration to avoid the pendulum effect. During outdoor shots, constant and smooth gimbal friction reduces the effects of the wind and results in better shots, irrespective of the operator skill levels.
The stabilizer can be easily adjusted to achieve correct vertical balance for different cameras by using counterweights. The weights interlock mutually as well as with the crossbar to prevent shifting that can create noise during movements. Finer adjustments can be made by moving the T-bar up or down, with the locking lever providing fast and secure locking. The gimbal vertical position can also be adjusted by rotating the gimbal up or down.
The horizontal counterweight bar can be positioned side to side to allow holding of the stabilizer close to the body; it can also be positioned front to back during shots that require the stabilizer on either side of the body. The 11" horizontal bar gives adjustable angular position for better performance, whereas the 15" horizontal bar provides maximum pan axis moment of inertia and stability.
The Universal docking bracket can be used to balance the camera and Blackbird on a tripod, C-stand, or table edge. The table clamp has a maximum open adjustment of 1 3/4".
The tripod adapter has a similar mounting surface and clamping screw as that of the Blackbird camera stage and thus lets you quickly shift the camera between Blackbird and the tripod.
Made of stainless steel and anodized aluminum components, the resting stand is lightweight yet strong. When not shooting, the stand can be used to set down the stabilizer with the camera attached on a reasonably flat surface, in a safe and stable position. While shooting, the stand can be folded down.
Blackbird's compact case with die cut foam protective pads ensures safe storage and transport of the Blackbird and all its accessories. The chassis/stage gets separated from the T-bar to occupy less storage space inside the case and helps easily pack the entire system into the case.
A user manual and instructional DVD are included to quickly guide you through the setup.

"solid stabilizer, works well...The monopod is a very nice addition I didn't think I'd use....This is a great stabilizer that's easy to use and has a solid feel to it....The rig comes with a stabilizing plate that you fasten to a flat, level object - you use this plate to rest the stabilizer while you balance it (that means you don't have to balance/make tweaks to your balance while holding it); it's very useful."See more
