The Hoya 77mm NXT Circular Polarizer Filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. The light from the sun naturally becomes partially polarized due to reflecting off electrons in air molecules, causing the light to scatter into what appears as haze. A polarizing filter arranges, and filters, this directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light, allowing for the absorption of much of this light. This results in a noticeable reduction of glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces and an increase in the saturation of skies and foliage.

A circular polarizer only differs from a linear polarizer in that it contains a quarter wave plane in addition to the linear polarizing filter. The addition of this quarter wave plane is to circularly polarize the linearly polarized light for the use of auto focus and exposure functions. Due to how the light is broken down and filtered with a linear polarizer, auto focus and exposure accuracy become skewed during use. When the light becomes circularly polarized, it permits the use of these functions.

This filter is non-coated. Hoya NXT filters have over 97% average light transmission, and are constructed from heat-resistant, high-transparency optical glass.

Well-suited to outdoor and nature photography, the 105mm Landscape Circular Polarizer Filter from LEE Filters helps to reduce reflections and glare as well as increase the overall saturation of an image. This unique polarizer filter is also characterized by a slight warm bias that, in addition to increasing contrast in skies, also helps to enhance green, brown, and gold tones. It is compatible with the LEE 100mm system, via an optional 105mm accessory ring, and features a slimline profile to reduce the likelihood of vignetting on lenses as wide as 16-17mm.

A polarizing filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. This results in a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions. A circular polarizer differs from a linear polarizer in that it supports full use of a camera's autofocus and auto exposure functions.

This filter is constructed from optical glass for maintained image quality and is set within an aluminum filter ring. Due to its slim profile, this filter does not have front threads for stacking additional filters.

"THE best!...very useful...I recently lost a polarizer somehow on a shoot and decided that instead of carrying several sizes for 3 different lenses, I would buy the lee 105 Landscape Polarizer and use it on the Foundation Kit, which I already have....I would have preferred a multi-coated filter for the price but I found other more expensive filters without a coating."

Lee 105mm Circular Polarizer Filter - Anyone involved in photography knows that Lee is a top-quality name in filtration. Whether for lighting or cameras, resin or gel, Lee makes filters for all scenarios. Their reputation is impeccable and they also are characterized by high standards for customer service.

Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun. Filter factor is between 2.3 and 2.8 (approx. +1.3 stops).

If you're out walking on a lovely day - in the mountains or at the beach - and you want to get a fabulous shot of a cloud-filled sky or make the water seem more saturated, then a polarizer is the way to go. This filter is the best way to make the clouds stand out, increase or decrease the saturation of the ocean or increase or decrease the reflection off the water. You can also use this filter when shooting into glass or windows since it will, again, either increase or decrease reflections.

If you're shooting black and white and want to simulate a threatening storm, try throwing on a #25 Red filter. The vista will take on the appearance of an imminent, ominous storm.

Along with a UV or Skylight Filter, a polarizing filter should be a part of everyone's gear bag. It can turn a run-of-the-mill image into a stunning, creative photo by increasing color saturation. Circular polarizers are specifically designed for use with auto-focus SLR cameras (They will also work on manual systems and video cameras without problems).

If you are using the Lee Foundation Kit Filter Holder you need the optional 105mm Accessory Front Thread Adapter Ring (LEFARPFK105).

This Sunpak 52mm Filter Kit includes a 52mm UV Filter and a 52mm Circular Polarizer Filter. Each filter in this kit fits a lens with 52mm front filter threads and can provide one of two enhancements to your imagery. Additionally, these filters are constructed from optical glass within an aluminum-alloy frame, which protect the front element of a lens from scratches, bumps, or impacts. A filter case that can accommodate both filters is included for storage and transport.

The Sunpak 52mm UV Filter is a general use, clear filter designed to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. Aside from the reduction of unwanted blue casts, no additional coloration or contrast is created, and adjustments to exposure are not required while using this filter.

This UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Such filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your front lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

The Sunpak 52mm Circular Polarizer Filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. Helping to reduce reflections and glare, the 52mm Linear Polarizer Filter from Hoya filters out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. By filtering this light, a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage is possible, as well as the ability to produce clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions. The filter is constructed from optical glass and is mounted within a durable, lightweight aluminum ring that has a hard-anodized finish to guard against wear.

A linear polarizer differs from a circular polarizer in that it does not support the use of a camera's autofocus or auto exposure functions; it is best suited for use with manual cameras, such as view cameras, that are not dependent on internal mechanisms to determine focus or metering settings.

"Very Useful...Easy on-off....The barrel of the lens tapers right where the filter is, so it can be difficult to grip the filter properly for removal....I like the effects of the polarizing filter, but I found it difficult to remove without the aid of a rubber band circling the part that attaches to the lens."

The XP PhotoGear 42mm MagFilter Circular Polarizer Filter is a unique filter and attachment system for use on compact cameras without front filter threads. The MagFilter system employs one thin adhesive metal ring, which is attached to the front of the camera lens, and then incorporates strong magnets into the filter ring itself for a seamless, non-threaded connection. This magnetic connection allows for the filter to be installed and removed quickly while the camera itself retains its thin original profile, even with the adhesive adapter ring attached.

The circular polarizer filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. This results in a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions. A circular polarizer differs from a linear polarizer in that it supports full use of a camera's autofocus and auto exposure functions. It is constructed from multi-layer coated optical glass and set in an anodized black and red metal filter ring.

"Works well....Nice addition...I don't have to worry about over tightening this filter as the magnet on the filter creates a tight fit....I don't know how often it will be used but so far I like it."

The Tiffen 52mm Linear Polarizer Filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface.

A linear polarizer only differs from a circular polarizer in that it does not contain a quarter wave plane that enables use of auto focus and exposure features. Linear polarizers are best suited for use with manual cameras, such as view cameras, that are not dependent on internal mechanisms to determine focus or metering settings.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

"Nice Filter...Cheap but good...Although, the grinding is not severe enough for me to buy a more expensive product the next time even if it were smoother, or annoying enough given I don't use the filter all the time....This polarizer is very affordable, and does what you wany a polarizing filter to do."

"Nice Filter...Good filter...It does an excellent job of reducing glare and haze, however sometimes when light sources enter the filter the refract a few times between the filter and front lens element causing some light ghosting distortion....Both filters work as three-stop neutral density filters for unpolarized light, but there is a huge difference in the amount of polarized light they block."
