A workhorse of a lens, the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM is an L-series telephoto zoom characterized by its bright f/2.8 constant maximum aperture and optical image stabilization. The fast maximum aperture affords greater control over depth of field and benefits working in low-light conditions while the Image Stabilizer compensates for four stops of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting. As an L-series lens, this 70-200mm also features a sophisticated optical design that uses five ultra-low dispersion elements and one fluorite element to reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations for improved clarity. Also, a Super Spectra coating has been applied to help reduce lens flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color neutrality.

Complementing its optical assets, this 70-200mm f/2.8 also sports a ring-type USM and internal focusing mechanism for quick, quiet, and accurate autofocus performance, as well as full-time manual focus override. Additionally, this lens is weather-sealed for use in trying environmental conditions and it has a removable rotating tripod collar to benefit working atop a tripod or monopod.

"Spot On...Fast AF....Used for: - Portraits - Weddings - More Weddings - Fun at the Park with the Dogs - Wildlife and Zoo Pictures Things that are Great about this Lens: - Amazing Image Quality - Fast and Accurate Focus in Low Light Conditions - Superb Bokeh at 135mm + - SUPER SHARP wide open Things that aren't so great: - Heavy - Expensive, but WELL Worth it You get an EGO-BOOST holding this lens, if you read a single bad review, know that the problem is not with the lens : )...This is an unbelievable lens but there are a couple drawbacks - more good shots means I spend more time in lightroom trying to decide what to throw away and I really got used to the tripod mount ring on the sigma - better to hold on to by hand and the lens rotates very smoothly with no binding on a tripod/monopod - I'll have no problem living with these deficiencies..."

"Dead on...sharp !...* This lens does not work anyway with the x1.4 canon convertor - they won't connect physically * Lens is so lightweighted long handholdings wont bother you're hands at all and thats a great plus while waiting for some time for the great moving macro shot - moving fish's for me * Lens hood works as expected - attached by rotating on lens and is pretty long when mounted....In usage now for about two weeks, Sharpest and highest contrast lens I have ever used so far - after 50mm 1.4, 16-35 2.8 L II, 90mm TS-E, 70-200mm 2.8L IS.What I particularly like about this lens are three things: Image quality - fantasticIS in angle and positionPrice - low for an L.."

"Spot on...Nice pic...The choice for me came down to either this lens -- which cost me $ from B&H -- or the slightly faster Canon 16-35 lens at nearly twice the cost. This lens focuses fast, focus is sharp and the pictures -- at least with my 5DM2 -- are nicely saturated and show acceptable contrast....With such a wide lens, obviously the hood must be restricted, but as I use my gear often in tight spaces and make frequent lens changes, I find the hood useful more as an added measure of protection to the lens (better the hood take the impact of hitting a concrete wall than the lens itself) and wish the hood was shaped such to take those impacts."

"Enjoy !!...Cool Lens...This lens is a must have if you are shooting professional portraits / weddings/ engagements / events - I actually have rented it twice now - and used it to shoot my own wedding - Crazy yea I'd never suggest tht to anyone- but it was a small private affair - I put it on my 5D Markll and never took it off all weekend....Many people only look at how much more money they have to pay to get from f1.4 to f1.2 L, but they did not realize that the 50 mm L lense is much much sharper than the consumer grade f1.4 lense at every aperture, expecially from f1.4 to f4.0."
