The spikes are made from an anodized aluminum alloy, so they're extremely resistant to corrosion. Having spiked feet is beneficial anytime you're shooting on soft earth surfaces.
A dedicated mounting tool is included.
"Good Grip...Great Feet...The adjustable spike exposure and rubber base are identical to feet found on some wood tripods....The spiked feet set is not just a replacement, it's a great improvement."See more

The broad, tough spikes are made from a hard-wearing anodized aluminum alloy, and will significantly increase stability on soft earth surfaces. Each spike's surrounded by a retractable hard rubber foot, with tapered concentric circular rubber ridges that get smaller as they approach the ground surface.
These tripod feet can be removed and replaced at will, even in the field.
"Worked great...Great product....Have these retractable spike feet on both aluminum and carbon fiber tripods because of the ability to quickly adapt to indoor or outdoor surfaces....The ability to remove the spiked tips quickly, allows me to re-install the rubber tips which are allowed on airlines while the spike feet travel in my checked-in luggage."See more

"Good Fit...I like it....I have been using the Canon feet with Kimberly plates (P20 and P30) on a 70-200 F2.8L IS and a 100-400 f4.5-5.6L IS and just upgraded the 100-400 to the Mark II, treating myself to this RRS foot....I do not find RRS replacement feet or L brackets always the best solution but this foot is perfect as well on tripod as in your hands."See more

"Works great...Perfect fit...However after being placed upon the tripod, and having the tripod placed upon the floor, the new rubber feet saw and understood that they would now serve the rest of their lives standing upon their own heads, supporting a tripod....Did without for awhile but sooo nice to have rubber feet on the tripod again!"See more

The replacement foot is compatible with most Arca-type clamps, and the double dovetail allows accessories to attach to the bottom or the top of the foot. By replacing the foot originally supplied, it gives the lens a lower profile and a lower center of gravity, therefore, it has a better balance when the lens is placed on a gimbal-type head.
The lens foot is CNC machined from a single block of 6061-T6 aluminum, and has a type-II black anodizing, which makes the foot resistant against scratches and corrosion. Located on the bottom of the foot are two safety stops, which prevents it from accidentally pulling the lens when the ball head clamp is partially open.
"THE BEST...Works perfectly...Feels good on hands when handling mounted on lens....Works as expected, biggest plus for me was the included QD socket."See more

Taller than the Wimberley AP-553, the AP-554 provides enough clearance between the lens body and the foot so you can use it as a lens handle. Its longer 5.1" length makes it better balanced with smaller DSLR camera bodies, and it's compatible with all Nikon professional and prosumer bodies – even as the lenses are used with teleconverters (see Compatibility below). In designing this replacement foot, Wimberley used finite material analysis to determine the best balance between stiffness and weight savings. While keeping the foot as light as was appropriate, the manufacturer refused to sacrifice any necessary rigidity.
The bottom of the foot is milled to accept an Arca Swiss-style quick-release clamp, and it also features tapped holes for direct attachment to both 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 studs on tripod heads and monopods.
"Works well...great Product...Another very nice touch is the addition of safety stops in the form of two small hex socket head screws....Fit on mounting holes is perfect."See more

The lens foot is made from 6061-T6 aluminum and has been black and satin silver anodized, which makes it resistant against scratches and corrosion. In addition, safety stops located on the bottom of the foot prevent the lens from accidentally being pulled when the clamp is partially open. The tightening knob on the foot is also captive, which does not allow the knob to come loose from the foot.

The suction cups increase the 055 tripod's effective footprint by ~20x, yielding a significant increase in stability when needed for certain surfaces. Retract the rubber cup to reveal a steel tip which provides a firm footing on soft ground.
These tripod feet can be removed and replaced at will, even in the field.
"good product...Great replacement!...For example, setting up along the edge of a river where the bank consists of baseball-sized stones: instead of having to search for a spot that the feet would be stable, I mostly just had to look for where the shot would look best....Great for replacing the rubber feet that come with the tripod."See more
