"I love...love it...I can get shots in a very poorly lit room that are crisp, in focus, and look at pleasing. No camera is perfect, and you'll find higher frames per second in the next body up in the camera line (and you'll literally pay twice as much), but in my experience the best shots are done with your own timing, not the camera's, so this hasn't been a limiting factor for me....I purchased this camera to move up to and augment my 7d I have fallen in love with the images that I am getting especially low light city shots coupled with 24-70 2.8l and this camera is wonderful the single cross type auto focus is ok for what I use it for for fast action I use my 7d."See more

Autofocus performance on the D7100 is on par with professional-level DSLRs and includes a 51-point focus area with 15 cross-type sensors for detecting both vertical and horizontal variations to achieve fast, precise focus. The central cross-type sensor works down to f/8, which is an advantage when using compatible tele-converters. The D7100 features the option of a 1.3x crop which allows you to get closer to your subject, as well as providing more image size options and faster processing of your images, including a faster 7fps burst rate.
Full HD 1080p video is supported on the D7100 and offers professional-level control including continuous autofocus, manual exposure control, a built-in stereo microphone and an external microphone and headphone jack. Recording at 60i, 50i, 30, 25 and 24 frames per second is possible and an HDMI output allows for direct screening on an HDTV. At 720p HD you can record at 60p frames per second for smooth slow-motion sequencing.
A 3.2" 1229k-dot TFT-color LCD provides 100% coverage for accurate playback and live view composition and the pentaprism optical viewfinder features an OLED display element for clear reading of the camera's settings without removing your eye from the finder. Dual SD card slots offer large memory capacity and the ability to designate which images go to each card. A built-in flash with commander function supports Advanced Wireless Lighting and a hot-shoe/accessory mount is available for speedlights. The D7100 is lightweight and durable with magnesium alloy top and rear covers and weather sealing to prevent dust and moisture damage.
The D7100 is compatible with all NIKKOR F mount lenses, both DX and FX format, and can provide wireless connectivity with the optional WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter. With the WU-1a and Nikon's free Wireless Mobile Utility app installed on your smartphone or tablet, you can instantly share images and use your phone or tablet as a Live View monitor.
"WOW X3...love it...If you are a begginer, I do not recommend this camera due to its complex and wide range possibiliies. You will be lost , unless you have lots of time to spare to study and you are a genius :) I only shoot on A , M and S modes....For jpegs it rocks, if that floats your boat.Personally, one down side- I found the body to be a bit too small...even with the MB-D15 grip (which is WAY too much $$$ for what it is does) Long and short, I am not sure what more a D5200 COULDN'T do for the market that I imagine this camera was truly intended for, and I firmly believe that the D7100 could have very well become the missing Pro DX body (D400???"See more

"So good...So fun!...I took pictures of of a few scenes - a landscape, a macro, a portrait, and a random still-life in mixed lighting - and, for the most part, I liked what I saw.Just to get all of the cons out of the way:First and foremost, don't expect sharp results....I carry a fancypants smartphone that shoots photos almost as good as my DSLR everywhere I go... ...And yet, ever since I got this lovely little Fuji instant camera, it's the first camera I reach for when I see something worth capturing."See more

"Pros 1....Wow !!!...The noise level is a lot better, and at high iso 3200 6400 is very good.the features in this monster is just amazing for example the the three photo merge processed right in the camera and most people don't know that this camera auto focuses at f8 what that means is your 5.6 lens with a 1.4 converter will now auto at f8 center dot. This camera has a lot of features that know other camera has at this time....However, as a total package, it's a pretty remarkable camera, and seeing as how the next gains in overall performance up the Canon line will run you $1k to $4k more at street prices, it's a great deal.I think any sense of being truly blown away by this camera will probably come as I continue to do actual photography with it, instead of just taking test shots."See more

"Love it....Love it!...Need fast tracking to follow a football game at night - not a problem, the focus tracking is excellent and feels spot on, I almost want to say the camera learns what I'm doing the longer I'm doing it but that's silly, but it certainly is one of the faster D models to get used to for me in a long time....The long version: I love the camera, it needs the battery grip to feel balanced in my hands (lots of port shooting and vert shooting of sports volleyball etc and I don't have big hands just average medium glove sized) and I love having the extra juice available to me so that's an extra $350 right off the get go, plus an extra En-El15 is another $45 but you aren't buying this camera if you are counting pennies in the first place."See more

The advanced Multi-CAM 3500FX autofocus sensor offers 51 AF points with 15 cross-type sensors and Group Area AF enables five AF sensors to be used as one group. This is useful when shooting subjects that cannot be tracked easily by one AF point due to lighting conditions.
As a camera optimized for video capture, the D810 features recording in both FX and DX formats including simultaneous recording to memory cards and an external recorder as well as recording 60p output to an external recorder. The ISO range for video has also been expanded to run from ISO 64 to 12,800 and expand to 51,200. Automatic ISO adjustment in manual mode enables smooth exposure transitions. A built-in stereo microphone is supported as are jacks for an external mic and headphones. A selectable audio frequency range provides exacting control over sound recording.
A 3.2" LCD with 1,229K-dot resolution provides playback viewing and live view, and improved coatings on the optical viewfinder components provide brighter images and more accurate colors. Live View function now includes split screen display zoom for stills, and zebra highlighting display in video mode. Full aperture metering during live view for still shooting is supported.
Interval and time-lapse shooting feature exposure smoothing, and the maximum number of images per sequence is now 9,999. Improved Picture Control settings now offer Flat Picture Control to enable maximum dynamic range and color adjustments in post-production.
The D810 utilizes dual media slots for both Compact Flash and SD cards, and it provides a built-in flash with i-TTL metering as well as a hot shoe mount. A larger grip enables comfortable control for extended shooting, and a secondary "i" button has been added to back panel for faster access to important settings.
"Love it...Top Tier...I could care less about the speed, after all I'm not a sports photographer. However, that being said, I may have received a dud because the 14 hour wedding I shot this past weekend (with the absolute fastest CF and SD cards available) it froze on me in the middle of the wedding....The AF also seems to be a good step up, I have yet to need to dial in any AF fine tune with my AF Nikkor lenses and I am getting much higher hit rates in low light with less hunting ( EV 2 and below ) than I did with the 800."See more

"Love It...Love it!...I have not had any problems with the D700, but since I bought the camera almost a decade ago, there have been an lot of advancements in sensors and image processing, so I thought that I would upgrade to the D750....Shoot mostly wildlife and birds; Nikon developed a good camera that has great low iso capability, as I primarily have to shoot at 6400 handheld for birds/wildlife in shadows and in flight at 1/1600 of a sec."See more
