Choosing umbrella size is determined by the size of the subject, and the strength of the light supply being used. Choosing an umbrella surface is as subjective as choosing a paint and brush. Each umbrella is perfect for a 1 person head shot, or 3x4 ft product setup.
Each of the two Impact brand umbrella brackets fit on top of almost any light stand, has different size stud adapters for various grip clamps, includes a cold shoe mount for your shoe-mount flash. It swivels, tilts, locks into place, and accepts almost any small to medium sized umbrella.
The Impact brand light stands are black, air-cushioned, and rise to a maximum height of 8' (2.4 m).
When using this kit with the Nikon SB-900/910 or Canon 600EX-RT, additional umbrella brackets which offer an "adjustable" shoe mount are required (see Impact #9101880).
"love it...Not Bad...First I loaded my SB-800 into one of the cold shoe mount, it fit very well, then I attached my SB-600 into another cold shoe mount, the flash was stuck on the mount, it was so tight that, when I eventually took the flash off, I found two sides of the flash shoe (plastic area) had deep scratches....The only thing that was an issue for me was the flash mount which is too tight to attach my PocketWizards on it so I ended up buying 2 other shoe mount clamps - the Photoflex UMBRELLA SHOE MOUNT MULTI CLAMP (PHMCUSM ) is a better fit."See more

"Love it...nice nice...I bought a regular griptight mount over a year ago and loved it so much that I just got myself a EL version for new larger phone....I simply use a clean clear plastic 35mm film canister which holds an ounce and mix in a quart of water for small batch Dil B, and use a half ounce for Dil H. No mess, minimal mixing, and I can't be happier."See more

"Love it...Love it!...Other than that, putting a decent mic on a DSLR also means that you have to connect a cable to that microphone, and depending on what mic it is, it may hang out the back side of the shock mount enough to bump into when you need to look through the camera's viewfinder....The ability to use this in a hot shoe mount on a DSL is very nice, not completely needed for my use, but nice to have just in case, and it is the same price as the Rode shockmount."See more
Able to tilt 180-degrees and swivel 360-degrees, the anodized black aluminum Umbrella Mount can be installed on any industry-standard light stand with a 5/8" top stud from either end of the mount. Additional 5/8" holes are tapped into to unit to allow you to mount it vertically or horizontally for maximum versatility. The Deluxe Umbrella Mount includes removable 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 brass stud adapters to support accessories. One of them, for example, fastens a cold shoe with a knurled locking knob for a secure connection to your flash.
"Love it...It Works...Although I use a RRS insulated hot shoe bracket to mount the SB-900 Speedlight to the bracket, the included adjustable hot shoe provides a nice touch if one needs this device.I will be buying more of these in the future as well as more of the Impact light stands as they also have proven to be a very high quality product for my needs and are very reasonably priced as well.......They are a good build but the cold shoe is a bit fiddly sometimes, but I know they are trying to provide a use for all flashes, so I understand."See more

"LOVE IT...good toy...I'ven't put anything more than a small cheesy handy-cam type of camera on it thought I think something a little bit heavier will work just fine too like a new video-capable dslr canon or nikon....I feel comfortable in most situations using this mount, however I would not trust this mount with my camera at high speeds (on a car)."See more

"Enjoy it...good buy...If I did not need it to spin, I would have remade the entire quick release bracket so it would not feel so loose- it has a lot of play....This product is great and I will be able to use this same mount in the future when it comes time to upgrade to a new projector."See more
Belying its true capabilities, this seemingly innocuous accessory part will lie harmlessly at the bottom of your gear bag, or in the corner of a parts box. It won't take up much room, nor will it weigh you down. Remaining nearly invisible amongst a cornucopia of accumulated photographic gadgetry, this clever shoe is just waiting for an opportunity to spring into action and save the day. By providing a simple yet effective mounting solution in the blink of an eye - this pint-sized gizmo is worth its weight in gold.
Constructed from durable aluminum bar-stock, and finished with a discreet semi-matte black anodized coating - the Universal Shoe Mount is a reliable covert interface between your shoe-mounted device and the intended mounting platform.
The bottom plate is machined flat with a relief cut to ensure strength and a secure fit to almost any flat surface. The mounting hole features the ubiquitous 1/4"-20 thread that's so commonly and conveniently found on photographic equipment. An oversized knurled plastic knob that can be visualized with ease in less than ideal lighting conditions graces the side of this fine mounting solution - turning it adjusts the spring-tensioned side-piece to accommodate various sized shoes and mounts.
"Love it!...It Works...The Universal Accessory Shoe Mount does mount the flash easily to the frame and in a stable fashion....I lost the spring inside of the shoe mount on my flash blacket, needed just the show mount only, it works perfect and holds well."See more

"All good...Nice piece...I use it to mount a camera mount LED light on an extra tripod....I glued it to the top of the strobe head to keep the PWIII in an upright position for better signal, and it works perfectly."See more

"The best...Perfect !...I got this free with a Wooden Camera Arri standard dovetail, and I was just about to give it to away...and then I rented a Sennheiser wireless lav (I usually just do cinematography and camera work, never doing sound, but I took a rare one man industrial shoot...)and wow...the cold shoe is just made for a Sennheiser wireless lav....It's a little pricey on its own but I got it as a free add-on for my BMPCC so I can't complain."See more

The SMH-1 features a single piece housing with flexible bands to hold the shotgun securly and to isolate it from unwanted vibration and noise. It has a built-in shoe mount and standard 3/8" threads on the bottom of the holder for mounting to a boom pole or tripod.
"Love it...Not bulky....I'm sure a strong blow to a mike while mounted in the shoe mount could break it, but for non-gorilla use it should last a good long time....I used the product out in a rural environment attached to a monopole and a canon GL2 and it worked great."See more

"HD hero...Works OK...I've mounted it on the handlebar of my vintage motorcycle -- which vibrates like crazy -- and it works like a charm --although I did add a small strip of rubber between the clamp and the handlebars to help achieve a perfect fit....With this mount I'm able to mount the GoPro camera to an old light stand and get a shot 8 feet off the ground giving me a a great wide shot of large events."See more
