The weight capacity is 15.4 lb and counterbalance supports 8.8 lb. The balance plate's 3.27" range allows you to correct for uneven payloads due to matte boxes or DSLR rig configurations.
The bridging technology ensures that the pan friction control is intuitive and easy to set, but also protected against knocks. There are independent locks for pan and tilt, and drag for both is selectable in a continuous range from zero to the max level. This allows you to operate the head in a confident, smooth manner using the included pan bar.
"5 Stars...love it!...I love the 502HD from Manfrotto....This one was a good fit because it is a lot of solid product for not much money, and it has a flat base so I could adapt it to an existing set of tripod legs rather than buy a video tripod that uses a bowl."See more

The side lock system on the MVH500AH allows the camera and sliding QR plate to click quickly into the head from above, instead of needing to be aligned and slid in from the back. This makes it easier and safer to mount your camera on this head. The head attaches to a tripod via a 3/8"-16 thread and includes a 500PLONG sliding balance plate with a captive 1/4"-20 tie-down screw and a 3/8"-16 adapter bushing. It also provides an Easy Link 3/8" connector on the side of the head to attach accessories such as a video monitor.
The MVH500AH is made from aluminum alloy, measures 3.74" high and provides a bubble level and precision control handle.
"Love it....quality head...I'm using this head with the Manfrotto MVMXPRO500US XPRO Aluminum monopod....This is the first time I have seen a tripod head that seems to favor the lefties of the world-- one in six of our population."See more

The magnesium head features a fluid cartridge for smooth movement. It moves freely in its photo mode, like a typical ball head. In video mode, motion is restricted to the appropriate dimensions: pan and tilt. Equipped with a reversible pan bar, the MH055M8-Q5 features a continuously adjustable pan & tilt drag that starts at zero. Counterbalance is adjustable, and the system supports loads up to 12.6 lb.
The three-section 755XB tripod reaches a maximum height of 65" (70.3" with the head attached), and it features flip-lever leg locks and a built-in 50mm bowl for +/-15° leveling.

"the best...Good buy...I viewed all the Manfrotto heads under $200 and read their reviews on the B&H site, I selected this one to get a compact, light head for a monopod....When on a walking tour for photos, your monopod serves as a good walking stick, but with the quick release base from the head already attached to the camera, you are prepared to take immediately that not to be missed shot."See more

"Love it...In love!...My only concern is using for panning and having to remove screws to switch handle in the event I want to pan with left hand and obviously click with right, it might not be an easy task in a short amount of time unless done before a specific shoot....It satisfies eventually, but you have to get a feel for it; much like aiming high with a gun, you have to anticipate a slight drop wherever you aim the thing."See more

"Love It...THE BEST...That is where this specific ball head really shines, when you need to move quickly through a shoot but also be able to adjust the camera to take multiple shots/angles....I took some time to really analyze if this head would work for me, and I believe I have made a good choice when I decided to purchase it."See more

"not bad...Love It...This is a great ballhead and is so much easier to use to position your camera without having to twist a bunch of knobs (as with a traditional ballhead) when you find the right spot....The joystick head is great for making large adjustments quickly, it is a lot more challenging to make minor tweaks to the position of the head, especially with a larger or heavier lens."See more

The head can be used for precise sequential and constant angle shots or simply for panning and reading the angle of rotation. The camera can be mounted directly to the head (use optional item #3054, not included, for 1/4"-20 mount), or on a conventional head which is in turn mounted on the Panoramic Head.
Note: This item has a 3/8"-16 male mounting screw on top and a 3/8"-16 female mount on the bottom.
"built to last...It works better....The leveling head goes between the tripod and the Arca Swiss tripod head and makes it very easy to level the top of the tripod which is critical for a good panorama without having to spend five minutes raising and lowering the tripod legs....Also, to make sure that I am pivoting the camera on the nodal point of the lens, I mount the camera on a Kirk LRP-1 6.5 Long Rail, using an appropriate Quick Release Plate on my camera."See more

"Highly Recommended for Photography...It is easy to use and fairly light weight....However, while it is a great head for photography, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for video as the action isn't fluid enough for on-camera panning and tilting....I use it for photography with my Nikon D810 (and a variety of lenses)."See more
