"Love it....The best...Easy release - Secure locking...With 2 camera bodies and any large telephoto lens, it's worth a few bucks to have a second quick release plate so that I'm not fumbling around unscrewing one plate to move to another body or lens."See more

"Solid Fit...Perfect !...Secure & strong!...All in all I am very happy with the plateness of the plate and the screwness of the screw - my only real complaint is the screwness of the price, which I find a bit painful due to the fact that you are after all purchasing a metal plate and a screw."See more
B&H # WIQRPP5 MFR # P-5
The P-5 plate has a thin, dense layer of textured rubber upon its uppermost surface, which grips the bottom of cameras but is so dense and thin that it maintains a solid feel similar to a metal-to-camera connection. Below the rubber, the top metal surface of the P5 is machined to ensure that frictional force is concentrated on the plate's outer portions, which provides the maximum mechanical advantage to help resist twisting.
While the P5 works on nearly all camera bodies, it is brilliantly suited for use with cameras which have metal skeletons and metal tripod sockets. With plastic-bodied camera bodies, one must not apply excessive torque to the plate when attaching to the camera.
"Good buy...good stuff...Smooth and secure!...I definitely prefer the camera specific plates from Really Right Stuff, but if I have to use a generic/universal plate for something, I think this one is a good choice."See more

"Love it....Good make...Easy, quick, secure access to the head...On most shoots I use a 501 pan-head on the tripod and owning multiple camera plates for the 501 means that I can keep a separate plate with each different camera (or mounted to the jib unit) and not have to worry about forgetting to bring a plate to the shoot locations."See more

The two security screws at the ends of the plates are a must to avoid accidental falls of the camera and lens during balancement operations....This plate is long and allows for additional attachments (like a flash and a better beamer) or can be moved forward or backwards to accommodate for the lens."See more

"Works well...Great system...Secures the camera...Don't be fooled by the Architectural word, if you want your camera to stop that uncomfortable twisting specially when on a monopod this is the one to get, If your camera has a battery grip or one already integrated (like Canon 1D/X Series) might no fit within the metal lip, but still the camera will feel solid attached to it and won't have movement between gear and quick release plate, just apply a piece of electrical of gaffer tape on top of the lip the battery grip mounts on just in case you "See more

The plate is machined in the U.S. from 6061 T6 aluminum, and it includes a stainless steel Allen screw for attaching it to the camera. Two additional screws serve as safety stops; in case the clamp is inadvertently left loose, the smaller screws will help stop the camera & plate from sliding all the way off the head.
The PZ-146 plate features a sensor-centering line on the side. Two Allen keys are included with the camera plate.

The CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum plate maintains complete access to the battery door without obstructing the tilting LCD monitor of the camera, and an option for an L-component is available that will fit the plate's modular design and make a custom-fit L-plate.
This plate has been Type II black anodized, which makes it resistant to scuffs and scratches. Furthermore, the base plate has a laser-engraved center mark on the back to align it on a head.
"A nice touch....Just Awesome!...The connection is very secure....If RRS can improve this base plate a little taller with pinky rest curve, this will be a perfect base plate."See more

"Good product...Perfect Match...It's generally secure....The only reason I didn't give 5-star is that I'm * that the * at Slik has no commonality across their line so it is hard to choose even a couple of heads with the same base plate. In retrospect, I lowered it to a 3 because * won't allow me to say pi ed, which is a legitimate feeling to have about a product."See more
