Think Tank has designed this bag both for functionality and security since it comes with a security cable and lock that can be tied to a reception hall column or fence leaving you to remove your gear while the rest of the pack stays safely tethered. Even the strong YKK zippered sliders accept user-supplied locks for maximum protection and peace of mind while on the job. Inside, padded movable dividers allow you to arrange the guts of the bag in whatever way you choose. Your computers are stored in their own, separate lockable, zippered compartment. For even more flexibility and security, you can store your optional Artificial Intelligence Laptop case within the computer pocket.
You have multiple ways of carrying the pack from its adjustable harness system and removable waist belt to the very convenient handles situated on three sides. The harness has enhanced lumbar support and air mesh paneling that will help keep you cool while the pack is on your back. And no need to worry about getting caught in bad weather since the pack is supplied with a neat rain cover that stores inside when not needed. A sternum strap is also provided to help maintain balance while walking. The Airport Essentials also accepts Think Tank's optional Pro Speed Belt or Thin Skin Belt that will assist with stability as well as increased load capacity.
Your tripod can be secured to the pack with its feet in a supplied exterior pocket and head tied with a supplied strap. For small accessories, the inside flap has laminated mesh pockets for everything from memory cards to a snack.
The exterior of the pack is made from a combination of ballistic nylon, polyester and nylon webbing all treated for water-resistance. The inside is nylon and polyurethane with padded, closed cell foam dividers. For a small pack that holds this much gear, it's relatively lightweight at a maximum of 3.6 lb. Think Tank backs the Airport Essentials with a lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects.
"Great bag...Great Bag!...The backpack straps are well padded, but the bag is definitely a carry-on first and a backpack second....Although I have only used the pack for a short while, it has exceeded my expectations and has more than fulfilled my wish list of needs in a backpack."See more

The backpack has a Hideaway Tripod Holder that secures a tripod or monopod to the backpack, a built-in All Weather Cover, and Hypalon attachment loops for SlipLock compatible products. It is carried by a carry handle, contoured backpack straps with back pad for added comfort and to wick away moisture, and a mesh covered padded waist belt.
"Love it...It's OK...Still, no bag is perfect and if you want a comfortable backpack with the ability to completely access all your equipment without setting the bag down, then the 400AW (or 500AW) is definetely one of the better, if not best, of the rear access backpacks available....One thing which wasn't clear to me until I received the backpack... You can only load and access the camera & lenses from the back of the pack, I thought it was a dual access kind of thing, still not a deal breaker and overall a great heavy duty camera bag."See more

The SLRC-206 has a computer compartment that is compatible with a 16" laptop PC and a 17" MacBook Pro notebook computer. The pack has 4 accessory pockets that allow fast access to memory cards and other small items. An industrial strength hook and loop straps on the side of the backpack can hold a tripod. The pack is carried by a handle or backpack harness straps. There is an Innovative strap management system that eliminates messy, hanging straps.
"Love it!...Must buy...The differences are: the Lowepro has a front big zip pocket can store stuff but not big enough to store a mac; the Case Logic has a Notebook area on the back that can also store stuff if you don't want to put a NB in it....I removed the small velcro dividers from one column of the pack (it has 3 columns of compartments) this allowed me to fit one novel, a pair of socks, underwear and a t-shirt in that space."See more

"Love it...Good Bag...I can shove a decent amount of gear in this bag - a Nikon D200 body, a couple large lens, a couple small lens (one in a soft case sitting on top of another lens), a flash head, a Gary Fong lightsphere, and assorted cleaning supplies and spare batteries....I used this bag during a trip to Safari in Africa , I found it comfortable backpack , it fit with Canon EOS 5D MIII attached with EF 70-200 mm F/2.8 L IS & EF 100-400 mm F/4.5-6.3 L IS , & some Accessaries , except the speed light , it attached with backpack ."See more

"love it...Love It!...Small but enough to carry a full frame camera and 3 lens (4 if you have a small lens like EF 35), and several filters, battery, memory cards that makes this light backpack very appropriate if you like to go around the day with your equipment.I felt it really water protective, and very protective against an unexpected fall of the bag.Really a good product....Great Camera Backpack, actually the best I have purchased for a small backpack, great construction, I had fit a DSLR with 2 medium size zoom lens, 2 flash units, filters, batteries, SD cards, a gray card and still have space for a few small items or papers."See more

"Love it...Is great...It has been a struggle to find a bag that would fit either of those and not be too bulky to serve as a daily use bag which has enough space to leave the camera with a lens on and provide fairly quick access....- I use this as my main bag to carry every pro gear - The most customizable backpack I own and I own a LOT of camera bags - I think my only gripe is the Molle webbing should be spaced to that a useful part isn't in the corner rendering less molle slots to be used on a useable surface."See more

For the small stuff, inside the front lid you'll find two zippered accessory pockets for cables, filters, cleaning cloths or any other small items you might need. There is a small front zippered compartment for quick access to snacks, ID, cash or keys. No need to delve inside the depths of the bag to grab them. For those long days in the field, there's a mesh water bottle pocket on the side. Located on the lower back of the pack is a zippered pocket for safely storing valuables such as your wallet and passport. The nylon exterior is enhanced by a padded front panel that is bolstered to protect your gear from incidental impact.
The backpack straps are adjustable and supported by a sternum strap for added stability while walking. A top carry handle is for quickly retrieving the pack from the trunk of your car or out of a closet. This very practical pack is backed by Case Logic's 25-year warranty.
"Love it...nice bag...For many years, I have been looking for a camera bag that fit the following needs, and have not been able to find one until now: - padded compartments to fit a Canon 5D or 7D size SLR with 24-105mm lens, a 70-200 zoom, large flash, 50mm lens, and other misc items - rear pocket to fit a 14-inch laptop - ability to fit an iPad - be small enough to easily carry around - not cost an arm and a leg The DCB-309 satisfied all those needs....Also I have two lens shades, a small flash and still have room for three batteries, SD cards, a tablet, and a easily accessible pocket for my passport."See more

When worn as a traditional backpack, it carries more than its weight in equipment including a 17" (43.2cm) laptop. When worn as a shoulder bag, you have rapid access to your gear through the zippered lower half of the bag. When used as either a left or right sided sling-style bag, the quick access zippered side pockets (on either side) give you even faster access to your equipment. An additional mesh storage pocket is supplied for small accessories.
The bag is essentially divided in half with the top being used for personals and smaller items in their own foam-padded compartment. The lower half is the main compartment where your gear is safely stored within additional foam-padded, adjustable dividers. There's an additional zippered mesh accessory compartment for batteries, media cards, cleaning cloths, pens or even business cards.
Carrying a tripod is no problem since the bag comes with connecting straps on the back that will hold your pod securely. This is a relatively lightweight pack that is functional, durable and flexible for the shooter who likes to be outside and constantly on the move. It's carried by two wide, padded and adjustable shoulder straps that are supported by an adjustable chest strap that helps keep the pack steady and centered on your back. The waist belt is also adjustable and helps prevent the pack from swaying while hiking or climbing. There's a comfortable back pad and easily removable and deployable rain cover for when the weather turns sour. Finally, if you're just trying to get the pack out of your car trunk, Vivitar has added a strong top carry handle.
"Love it...nice bag...Its has all the same features as in a 17inch laptop compartment and also a lower section to put a DSLR plus 3-4 lenses, plus a tripod holder to attach your tripod, Ive got a 701hdv on 190cx sticks and it fits great, it has a built in foot harness to support the bottom of the tripod in the middle of the bag centering the weight....I have fit my laptop, laptop charger, mouse and mouse pad; a Nikon d7100, an extra battery and charger three lenses, a hot sheoe flash and a macro ring flash, a Diana f+ (with the flash attachment); AND personal items all very nicely in this bag, with still room for more!"See more

"Good bag...Love it!...With a laptop in the sleeve, and no outside pocket to retrieve the laptop, when you have a full bag and then take the laptop out, all the contents of the bag move around and then it's difficult to get the laptop back in without taking it all out....Also, I recommend getting the velcro silencer strips if you aren't a fan of that loud ripping noise every time you open and close your backpack -- not a good idea for a habitually tardy student who tries to sneak into class mid-lecture (oops)."See more
