"Solid Fit...Perfect !...Well made, easy to attach...I see my mistake now, which I did buying dedicated plate from RRS for 70-200mm f2.8 IS II L before buying P-20 (By the way P-20 is bit longer than RRS plate for 70-200mm f2.8 IS II L) Overall it is matching quality of RRS and Kirk I like versality of this product as it can be used on many lenses."See more

B&H # WIQRPP5 MFR # P-5
The P-5 plate has a thin, dense layer of textured rubber upon its uppermost surface, which grips the bottom of cameras but is so dense and thin that it maintains a solid feel similar to a metal-to-camera connection. Below the rubber, the top metal surface of the P5 is machined to ensure that frictional force is concentrated on the plate's outer portions, which provides the maximum mechanical advantage to help resist twisting.
While the P5 works on nearly all camera bodies, it is brilliantly suited for use with cameras which have metal skeletons and metal tripod sockets. With plastic-bodied camera bodies, one must not apply excessive torque to the plate when attaching to the camera.
"Good buy...good stuff...It feels solid and is very well made....I definitely prefer the camera specific plates from Really Right Stuff, but if I have to use a generic/universal plate for something, I think this one is a good choice."See more

The Perpendicular Plate gives you a dovetail plate that is perpendicular to the original direction of your camera body plate.
Since the dovetail on most camera body plates is oriented perpendicular to the axis of the lens, adding the perpendicular plate gives you a dovetail plate that is parallel to the axis of the lens. This is useful for attaching telephoto and macro brackets to your camera body. The Perpendicular Plate can also be used to make small forward and backward adjustments for macro photography.
"Useful item...Good product...It is stable, Sturdy and Very well made....I like it better than the equivalent RRS T plate because it is a bit lighter and the grove on the sides goes all the way along the edge so I can clamp the DSLR in any position (forward/backward) I want."See more
