A single twist of the grip at the end of the multi-angle arm loosens both the tilt and rotation, and when the arm is in the desired position, a twist of the grip in the opposite direction re-engages the lock and the arm is fixed again. It's particularly useful for macro photography, copying and any other application where fine adjustment of the camera position is required.
"They love it too....Great Tripod addition ....A Nikon D800E / 105mm macro lens also works with this arm but is not as sturdy....This arm would be 5 stars if the ball head screw adapter would have been a reversible 3/8 to 1/4 instead of simple 1/4."See more

At the end of the legs are retractable rubber/spiked feet to provide stable footing on a variety of different surfaces. The center column can be positioned by the crank handle to fine-tune the height of the tripod.
"like it, but could be improved...Over all though, I am very happy that I purchased this unit....The action is smooth, but it could use a quick turn nut to remove the arm from the tripod."See more

"Love it!...Rock Solid...I've put a Mola Demi Beauty dish on the boom arm and even hanging with the boom arm full length it still is stable....After working for years with straight stands its fantastic to have a stand that moves a little more, stays out of the way and is heavy enough to not always need a sandbag."See more

"Love it....Love it!...It's not a turtle base stand like my Norm's one, but as a result it definitely feels more stable despite the fact that it's a bit top heavy (the Grip + Arm combo is a lot heavier than that of my Norm's stand....Works as a light stand for any fixture with the female mounting stud and the grip arm can hold a variety of light modifiers."See more

"Cool Arm...Mini Boom...I purchased this boom arm for usingWestcottIce Light 2 LED as a hair or rim light but after 4 hours with fully extended arm the whole thin arm bend slightly and I can not use the arm extension mechanism....Good enough to hold a speedlight with a small umbrella, but wouldn't attach a softbox or even a small beauty dish."See more

"Not bad...Works OK...Nice arm for a monitor, especially when used with a clamp rather than the hot shoe mount....This is a pretty decent articulating arm, but it feels a little clunky to use, like everything is just a little off."See more

"Good Arm...Good But...I would like to add, if you are a first time visitor to B&H let me give them a 5 STAR Rating, I have shopped at B&H over the years, their service is excellent, and all of the products I have bought are first rate....This was used in a small VO booth, it works well, with a mic on it it stays right where you put it, and has a good range of movement."See more

"Love it!...Good deal...I also figured out you could use this as a simple steadicam with a Canon 7D perched on top - of course this would tire your arm out after just a few minutes, but it will do in a pinch - just bend the magicarm until things feel balanced....The kit's interesting because it contains both a stand and a super clamp and a camera adapter in addition the Magic Arm, this gives you a lot of options."See more

"LOVE IT...Magic Arm...A fully extended Magic Arm holding up your shiny new $ Canon EOS-1D with a fat long lens is a really, really bad idea.I once bought a low-cost versions of this product....Super-clamped to my exam table the Magic Arm swivels anywhere I want holding the subject's face comfortably on a chin rest that is a Manfrotto Camera Mountlined with a leather cushion."See more
