Nikon 55-200mm f/4.0-5.6 Overview

  • 1Description

Well-suited for subjects ranging from portraits to wildlife, the AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED from Nikon is an 82.5-300mm-equivalent telephoto zoom for DX-format cameras. The versatile range of long focal lengths is ideal for isolating subjects and homing-in on distant scenes. Two extra-low dispersion elements are used to reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing throughout the zoom range, for greater clarity, and a Super Integrated Coating has also been applied to suppress flare and ghosting for increased contrast. Additionally, a Silent Wave Motor affords fast and near-silent autofocus performance and full-time manual focus override.

Telephoto zoom is designed for DX-format F-mount cameras and provides an 82.5-300mm equivalent focal length range.
Two extra-low dispersion elements greatly reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce greater clarity and color accuracy.
A Super Integrated Coating has been applied to individual elements to suppress internal reflections, flare, and ghosting for improved contrast and color accuracy when working in strong lighting conditions.
Silent Wave Motor affords quick, quiet, and precise autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override.
Rounded nine-blade diaphragm promotes a pleasing out of focus quality that benefits the use of shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this Nikon lens I have bought several lenses and a tripod from B & H Photo and have not been disappointed. Since we do not have a reputable camera store real close and this company came highly recommended by a camera pro I have felt very comfortable ordering products and have been very pleased not only with the price but also with the products themselves and will be ordering from them in the future. I also recommend this company to other DLSR owners.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile medium range zoom Tele. This item was a replacement for one included in my D3200 kit. I accidently dropped the original and ruined the AF. B&H's prompt service and quality products are greatly appreciated. Sincerely, B. Brian

Rated 3 out of 5 by from this is a good lens for under $ This is a good lens for a student. It has good diffenition and is quick to focus. I will say it is limited for close up shots it seems tom like a distance of 24 inches. Anything closer and you shoud change lenses. It is really good for long range( 2 miles or more) shots .

    question

Can you any lens in Pakistan?
    Asked by: Fahad M.
While I do not understand the above inquiry the way it is typed/phrased, if you are asking if the Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED Lens, unfortunately, no, the lens cannot be shipped internationally to Pakistan. Nikon items may only be shipped within the United States or purchased in our NYC Superstore. For an option that may be shipped internationally, I would instead recommend the Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro Autofocus Lens for Nikon AF, B&H # TA70300MNAF, for your needs.

    question

Please recommend me low light lense?
    Asked by: Fahad M.
If you are looking for a telephoto zoom lens for low-light photography needs, then the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II Lens, B&H # NI7020028, would work for your needs. The Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 Di LD (IF) Macro AF Lens for Nikon AF, B&H # TA7020028MN, is the most economical option that has a constant f/2.8 aperture for low light telephoto zoom needs. If you are simply looking for an inexpensive low-light lens, and it does not have to be a telephoto lens or a zoom lens, then the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Lens, B&H # NI5018GAF, would work for your needs.
