    Nikon 2129 Reviews

    TC-14E II 1.4x Teleconverter for D-AF-S & AF-I Lenses ONLY is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 241.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far, so good... Oops - my review, below, was meant for the series III version of this converter. I did try the series II on my 300mm AF-S f4, but they did not work well together. Could have been a defective converter, so I returned it and got the series III. Plenty of people get great results with this version, so I won't disparage it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems good, so far. I haven't fully shaken this out yet, but so far is equal or better than the previous version (series II). I am using it with my D7100, 70-200 f4.0 and my AF-S 300mm f4.0. Yes, it can be used with the 300, but you need to set the custom menu controls to use the lens aperture ring instead of the command dial, and use manual exposure. Sometimes worth the hassle, but it's much easier to use my 1.7x with that lens. This is a long reach combination that requires great care to be steady... I will keep this 1.4x on my zoom mostly, as there is little degradation, and this combination works really well, hand-held.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great accessory Sharp telextender lens to complement my Nikon 80-400 mm telephoto lens

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A little more reach, no loss of quality! I wouldn't go more than 1.4 because at that point the edges start to get issues. 1.4 and loss of 1 f-stop is fine, still sharp and a bit more reach. Excellent little addition to anyone's bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Up Close and Personal I bought this to use with my Nikon 300 prime and the extra reach it gives me is terrific. I love to take pictures of birds and wildlife, so this really helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Basic Equipment This teleconverter is for use with several of my D-AF-S D series lenses. I almost ordered the new TC-14e III until I found out that it was not backward compatible with my lenses.

    question

Can I use this with the D610 and a Sigma 70 - 200 F2.8 EX DG OS HSM f Nikon?
    Asked by: Anonymous
The Nikon teleconverters are only compatible with a select number of Nikon pro-level telephoto lenses. So, the TC-14E II would not be compatible with the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. You could use the Sigma 1.4X teleconverter (B&H # SI1.4XDGNAF) with the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 and D610.

    question

    How does this compare to the 14 III 1.4? I have a D610 with the 80-400 4.5 -5.6 AF-s Are both TC's compatible?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Both the Nikon TC-14E II and III are compatible with the AF-S 80-400mm lens and D610. The III has a redesigned optical design with more elements in more groups. This will help with the optical quality of the teleconverter. It also has an improved barrel for increased moisture and dust resistance.

    question

do you see any problems using the tc-14e with a 200 mm micro and d-90 ?
    Asked by: Anonymous
The Nikon teleconverters are only compatible with a select number of Nikon AF-S and AF-I telephoto lenses. Unfortunately, none are compatible with the Nikon 200mm macro lenses. You would need to look at a third party option for this. http://bhpho.to/1lkybfz
