Essentially, phone mics are professional-quality microphones rewired to work with smartphone software and hardware. Lavalier mics have clip-on features to allow for hands-free operation. They're perfect for hosting segments, interviews, and many other similar applications. Stereo and shotgun mics have stands and mounts for iOS devices that allow you to capture sound that's in close range. There are also the traditional handheld condenser microphones that have sufficient polar pattern to clearly pick up a single speaking/singing voice. You may also want to consider shopping for directional mics for live broadcasting purposes. These mics capture sound from all directions equally, while eliminating any kind of noise.
