The burgundy version of the SMH-1200 Enhanced Studio Monitor Headphones from Senal is tuned for accurate music reproduction and studio monitoring. With a closed-back, over-the-ear, foldable design and features like interchangeable twist-locking cables, extra-deep ear cushions, and a refined musical frequency response, the SMH-1200s are suitable for both audio professionals and enthusiasts.

Using 40mm Neodymium drivers, the headphones deliver a wide frequency response of 10 to 20,000 Hz with minimal distortion, a slightly boosted low end for well-defined bass and sub-bass, a smooth and pronounced midrange, and a clear intelligible high end. The extra deep ear pads provide comfort while wearing the headphones for extended listening sessions and help passively isolate the sound from external noise.

Physically, the SMH-1200s are designed to be robust and appropriate for use with professional audio equipment such as mixing consoles and headphone amplifiers. Their 58-ohm impedance can also operate with lower-power devices such as smart phones or MP3 players for mobile listening. Color-matched elements combine for an elegant look.

They come with two twist-lock detachable cables that can be easily swapped depending on the application. The coiled cable can extend from 4 to 10 feet and is intended for studio use. The 4-foot, tangle-free, fabric cable includes an inline microphone for phone calls and a control button for operating smart phones and other mobile devices. A wide range of accessories is supported.

To ensure years of reliable operation, the earcups feature wire guides to protect the cabling and maintain the performance of the SMH-1200.

Note:
Due to variations in cell phone manufacturing, the included mobile cable may not work on all models of cell phones. For full functionality on Android phones, a third-party app such as Headset Button Controller may be required.

I never dropped it or did anything that could damage it. Just stopped working shortly after it was too late to return.

Issues

Like many others have stated, these headphones have had issues with the wiring on the inside. You're better off with the standard Sony headphones that every audio professional has. They trust them for a reason.

For $70 on sale, worth every cent. Great bass and nice sounding. I use them for monitoring voice recording in video production. I do not know if they are accurate for music production. Very comfortable ear cups. Semi-isolation. Comes with a coiled cord and an uncoiled cord. And a bag. Nice product.

Good quality at a good price

I purchased these headphones as part of a daily DealZone deal, and am very happy with them. I needed headphones for field work that could easily fit in my bags or cases amongst other gear, and these fold up really well. Initially I missed the instruction re: locking the mini stereo jack into the headphones and kept having the sound cut out on me. Senal customer support were very patient in explaining that I probably just needed to lock the jack properly, and voila, the problem was solved. The audio quality is good, especially for the price, and the headphones are comfortable as well.

Great pair of cans for the price I paid

They cut out way more surrounding noise than I thought it would during a wedding reception and helped me do my job. Also, the cord that comes in two sizes is a great addition.

Most comfortable headphones for work. Period.

These have become my favorite headphones. I've tried many brands, many makes and many models of over-ear headphones. Most of them have disappointed me. They're either far too expensive to use for work, too uncomfortable to wear for more than an hour, or simply cheaply or poorly built. These Senal headphones are: Phenomenally comfortable, I've worn these for up to 10-12 hours at a time with small breaks and my ears don't hurt AT ALL. Really well built for the price, not overly tough but tough enough to throw in a bag or case after a long day or mixing audio or editing. Well-balanced EQ response (flat) and's practically a reference-grade audio monitoring option. I wear these for mixing. AFFORDABLE. I cannot shout this loud enough. I've spent 2-5x more on headphones only to have them short out in the middle of a take (Audio-Technica) or *completely disintegrate* (Pioneer) and leave me high and dry. These are great. And hey, if they were to break- I can afford to just buy another pair. STRONGLY RECOMMEND

I own this headphones for less than a month. But I can say that it works perfectly, very comfortable to work many hours. It isolates from external sounds, and considering its low price. I must say I am very satisfied with the quality as monitoring headphones for my studio, If you just take care of the plug in, and the cables, you can't go wrong with this Senal headphones.

Great Headphones but exposed wire will probably fail

By Brian

Speedy delivery from east coast to me on the west coast without charging extra fees. Love the headphones for the comfort. Yes they go around the ears. Great sound and I have lost some of my hearing in the high-end so others wrote that there was too much high-end but it is perfect for me. I should give these a 5 star rating but I suspect that the exposed wire at the hinged part, right where I would grab them to take off of my head will probably fail long before anything else. I understand why they were designed with an external wire there to allow the ear parts to fold up, but that thin little wire's days are numbered at the get go. If I didn't know any better I would suspect a case of planned obsolescence. I predict maybe a year. We'll see.

question

What's the difference between the 1200 and the 1000, just the ear pads or are they different drivers?
Asked by: John W.
These are great earphones and I think you would be happy with either the 1000 or the 1200... I purchased the 1200 and super happy with them. Their price is good and quality is excellent in my opinion. I had another different pair of headphones I pay about double the price called them and they wanted to charge me $12.00 for replacement ear pads and they did not work as well as the 1200 series. Very happy here and glad I found the product on B&H
