The nautical blue version of the SMH-1200 Enhanced Studio Monitor Headphones from Senal is tuned for accurate music reproduction and studio monitoring. With a closed-back, over-the-ear, foldable design and features like interchangeable twist-locking cables, extra-deep ear cushions, and a refined musical frequency response, the SMH-1200s are suitable for both audio professionals and enthusiasts.

Using 40mm Neodymium drivers, the headphones deliver a wide frequency response of 10 to 20,000 Hz with minimal distortion, a slightly boosted low end for well-defined bass and sub-bass, a smooth and pronounced midrange, and a clear intelligible high end. The extra deep ear pads provide comfort while wearing the headphones for extended listening sessions and help passively isolate the sound from external noise.

Physically, the SMH-1200s are designed to be robust and appropriate for use with professional audio equipment such as mixing consoles and headphone amplifiers. Their 58-ohm impedance can also operate with lower-power devices such as smart phones or MP3 players for mobile listening. Color-matched elements combine for an elegant look.

They come with two twist-lock detachable cables that can be easily swapped depending on the application. The coiled cable can extend from 4 to 10 feet and is intended for studio use. The 4-foot, tangle-free, fabric cable includes an inline microphone for phone calls and a control button for operating smart phones and other mobile devices. A wide range of accessories is supported.

To ensure years of reliable operation, the earcups feature wire guides to protect the cabling and maintain the performance of the SMH-1200.

Note:
Due to variations in cell phone manufacturing, the included mobile cable may not work on all models of cell phones. For full functionality on Android phones, a third-party app such as Headset Button Controller may be required.

Senal SMH-1200 Reviews

Garbage

The right ear driver module never worked. I disassembled the headphones and the build quality was incredibly cheap. I ran the audio signal directly to the right side driver -- no sound. (I confirmed there was sound on the left side). These are poorly manufactured headphones with cheap components. I'm surprised bhphoto carries such low quality items.

Solid for the price

I've had these nearly two years. I like them a lot: they are comfortable to wear and sound nice. I use them for daily tele-commuting and on occasion to block out sound while on a plane. I don't pretend I am going to make money off these, I imagine if it matter that much to you, you'd spend more than a C note. My only complaint is the coiled cable kinda came apart at the 2.5mm jack. I would baby that connection as I probably wasn't the most careful. I wish they didn't make it a weird notched cable because now I either have to shell out the $15 to replace it or just use the cloth line. The ear pads have shown wear but using daily for years, and for hours at a time, I wouldn't expect any other material at this price point would hold up. In short, ignore the haters and those that pretend to be professionals but just make pointless tiktok vids. Pros: comfortable and sturdy enough for desk use Cons: proprietary cable jack

Goes on sale regularly. The ear pads are replaceable and affordable. If you use these every day for a year, the ear pad leather will probably start to break apart and shed little pieces of the material everywhere, including on you. I recommend grabbing replacements either right away or as soon as you start to see it wear down.

Good Sound but Quality not so much

The construction of the electronics and sound performance are good but overall durability of the headphones is only fair. After a years use small pieces of the earpads began to flake off. Even more concerning, the earpads will produce a stain if placed on any paper. I contacted the company regarding both of these issues and their response was that the earpads are an accessory (even that the headphone cannot be used without them) and are not supported like the headphone electronics. Senal did not address the paper staining, or provide any information on recommended earpad replacement. Since I use headphones for hours at a time I do not feel safe wearing headphones that are leaching something. I've tested other headphone earpads and they did not have these issues. So I will not continue using these headphones.

I never dropped it or did anything that could damage it. Just stopped working shortly after it was too late to return.

I own this headphones for less than a month. But I can say that it works perfectly, very comfortable to work many hours. It isolates from external sounds, and considering its low price. I must say I am very satisfied with the quality as monitoring headphones for my studio, If you just take care of the plug in, and the cables, you can't go wrong with this Senal headphones.

Great headphones, terrible cords

I bought 6 of these for my campus radio station. The headphones are great in sound quality, but the cords all failed in a very short amount of time. Very disappointed with that. First the spiral cords, then the straight ones.

Are these any good w hearing aids that go over the ear (meaning the ear piece on the headset has to have enough room around the ear that the hearing aid can hear above the ear not just in the canal)?

It's a matter of personal fit. I suspect they would not be comfortable. You would really need to try them on.

Are these Hi-Res audio headphones?
Asked by: Alfred
No. They do not have the Hi-Res Audio label. You did not ask, but I don't recommend these for enjoying music. Their sound is very flat. These are for audio monitoring duties, where they work amazingly well!

question

What's the difference between the 1200 and the 1000, just the ear pads or are they different drivers?
Asked by: John W.
Based on the key specs, the 1200 have EQ Curve for Music and Monitoring, while the 1000 have EQ Curve For Field and Studio Use. But who knows what it means exactly. I suggest you to buy the 1200 because of better sound isolation.
