Not the proper fit!

I had previously ordered the ET-63 for a Canon 55-250mm STM lens several years ago that fit perfectly. I later sold that lens and lens hood but just recently bought a new 55-250 lens for my daughter who is now into photography. The ET-63 lens that I recently ordered and received doesn't fit securely on the new lens and easily comes loose from the threads.

Arizona Sun!

Being a snowbird means I have more sunlight in Arizona coming through the lens, and the lens hood makes lens flares less likely to happen.

A little nervous about how well it would fit my old lens. This was a perfect match and already adding to the quality of my photo's.

It's a lens hood. Designed to fit specifically with the 55-250 lens; it does what it is designed to do. Makes a big difference when shooting around competing light sources. Get it. You won't regret it.

question

Can I use this lens hood in my 70-300??
Asked by: Marvin R.
The lens hood will mount to your 70-300mm lens but it will not be very effective. There is a huge difference in the length of the each hood. The 18-55mm hood is one inch long while the other is two and a half inches long providing better shade protection for the longer lens. The small difference in cost having two hoods far out-weighs the difference in shade protection.
