Freehands 31122MS overview

  • 1Description

The charcoal colored Ragg-Wool Men's Gloves from Freehands provide warmth in cold conditions and still allow you to access and operate your camera. The gloves stretch to accommodate small to medium sized hands. They are made from a 50% wool and 50% nylon shell with a Thinsulate lining and feature a ribbed cuff to keep out snow and cold air.

When photographing in cold weather you can access your camera's small buttons by pulling back the thumb and forefinger tips of the gloves. The tips are secured in place by magnets until you are ready to cover your fingers again. The palm of each glove is covered with dots providing a secure grip when holding your camera.

The circumference around your dominant hand at the knuckles should fall within the below range:
7.5 to 9" / 19.1 to 22.9cm

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Golden #1 They are warm! #2 I can use my fingers to shoot and on my phone with no issues. Ive only owned these gloves for 2 weeks but have used them extensively for both shooting and everyday use. I love how warm they keep my hands because I am ALWAYS cold. Even when my thumb and index are exposed they dont really get cold. As a side note I was pleasantly surprised how well the sizing guide on Freehands website worked. Very happy with them now I just need to see how durable they are over time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good except for thumb and forefinger! I use the gloves when out taking photographs or walking my dogs or both. They are quite warm, fit well, are well made, and the rubber nubs make it possible to drive with them on. The moveable tips on the thumb and forefinger do allow me to operate a camera without removing the gloves, and the embedded magnets do a good job of keeping the tips open for this purpose. HOWEVER: The thumb and forefinger flaps will NOT stay closed when I'm through taking a picture, however carefully I put them back over the tips. This means that when I've been out for awhile, my thumbs and forefingers become as cold as if I simply had fingerless gloves. I've wondered whether digging the magnets out would help but haven't tried that yet. I may take my wife up on her offer to sew the tips shut--thus converting these into decent ordinary gloves. Or there's always duck tape. (I ordered these last winter but gave them another chance this winter, which confirmed my judgment. When I was looking last year at B&H reviews on similar pairs, there was at least one who mentioned this problem. I should have listened.)
