The XP PhotoGear 36mm MagFilter Circular Polarizer Filter is a unique filter and attachment system for use on compact cameras without front filter threads. The MagFilter system employs one thin adhesive metal ring, which is attached to the front of the camera lens, and then incorporates strong magnets into the filter ring itself for a seamless, non-threaded connection. This magnetic connection allows for the filter to be installed and removed quickly while the camera itself retains its thin original profile, even with the adhesive adapter ring attached.

The circular polarizer filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. This results in a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions. A circular polarizer differs from a linear polarizer in that it supports full use of a camera's autofocus and auto exposure functions. It is constructed from multi-layer coated optical glass and set in an anodized black and red metal filter ring.

Compatible Cameras

The adapter rings and circular polarizer filter have been tested to fit the following cameras:

Canon PowerShot S95, S100, S110, and S120.

Magnetic Attachment Method

Unique and efficient magnetic attachment system for use on compact cameras featuring lenses without filter threads.
The included adhesive metal adapter rings have an outside diameter of 32mm and an internal diameter of 28mm.

36mm MagFilter Circular Polarizer Filter is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I was skeptical I mounted this on my Nikon Coolpix S920 as I wanted a polarizer for it. I was using a handheld separate polarizer and it was a pain to hold the camera and the polarizer. This item was a simple install, and the magnet holds the polarizer firmly on the camera. The polarizer itself seems to work about as well as my medium priced filters from a name brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Polarizer for my Canon Powershot S120 In the past I have held polarizing sunglasses in front of my compact pocket cameras, but not any more. This system is so easy -- apply the stick-on metal ring to the front of the lens barrel on my camera, and then click on the polarizer when I need it. Easy on, easy to turn, easy off. Very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Polarizer This filter was bought for my son's Cannon S110. As always, since the early 1970's, I have relied on B&H for great advice, quality and price. My son loves the filter which adds a little more to an already fine product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from MAGNET COULD BE STRONGER The filter is of good quality glass but the magnet could be stronger. I don't think it holds on very well I have a Canon S-95 Just a bit pricy
