XP PhotoGear XPMFA58 overview

  • 1Description

The XP PhotoGear 58mm MagFilter Threaded Adapter Ring enables the use of any threaded 58mm filter on a compact camera that otherwise does not allow the use of screw-in filters. The MagFilter system employs both an adhesive metal ring and a magnetic threaded adapter ring to provide versatility as well as ease-of-use when installing or removing the adapter ring.

Compatible Cameras
The adhesive metal ring attaches to the front of the camera lens providing a surface for the magnetic adapter ring to quickly attach to. This adapter ring has been tested to fit the following cameras:

Canon PowerShot G12, G15, G16, Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100, RX100 II, RX100 III, RX100 IV, RX100 V, HX9V, HX20V, HX30V, and HX50V.

    XP PhotoGear XPMFA58 reviews

58mm MagFilter Threaded Adapter Ring is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent! This is the one to buy for the Sony RX100M4. With the 52mm adapter, and the extended wide angle of the M4, there is vignetting. With this 58mm model, there is none. If all you require is a circular polarizer, then buy the filter with the integral mage mount. It's more compact, and does not vignette. I bought this to use a linear polarizer, in this case, a 58mm Hoya. As to whether the adhesive ring will eventually separate, I cannot comment. It might be more likely to stay on than the Sony brand adapter, which uses a locking flange in place of a magnet. If the adapter is hit, it may simply separate from the camera, leaving the adhesive ring in place.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works perfect! I bought this product to slim line my little rig set up for my Canon G16. Things that are great about this MagFilter: The adhesive ring attaches just perfect to the front of the lens and the mag filter snaps on with a good strong magnetic connection. My 58mm filter threads on nicely. And it looks cool. You need not worry that it is just going to fall off. Things that aren't so great: It will fall off if you hit it so you need to watch for that. I am overall very happy with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Suitable for the Canon Powershot G9 & SX280 HS Bought this 58mm for my old G9 (not the newer X model) and also for my SX280 HS. The large 58mm is suitable as that there is very little chance of vignetting even when using lens hoods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magfilter adapter a must have on Sony RX100V I use this to add a 58mm variable ND filter and graduated nd filters to RX100V. Magnet keep adapter and filter in place. Excellent product.
