Does this lens work without electronic camera ...

Does this lens work without electronic camera control? If I use a dummy mount adapter to EF, can I do manual focus and iris control? Or is the fstop only able to be adjusted by a camera that speaks to the lens?
Asked by: Kyle
The aperture on this lens would need to be controlled by the camera or an adapter with manual aperture control.

question

How is this different from the older DA version with green ring?
Asked by: Uday
The HD lens coating is supposed to allow better color transmission and reduce lens flaring than the SMC. I saw a test report that shows it does work. I use this lens all the time. I get more compliments for pictures taken with this lens than any other lens I own.

question

Is the quality and compact size of prime lenses worth the loss of convenience compared to zooms?
Asked by: dan H.
The quality of this lens is definitely outstanding. But, I already owned several zoom lenses before I purchased this lens. I am a fan of the zoom for general usage.
