    Wacom PTH851 reviews

PTH851 Intuos Pro Professional Pen & Touch Tablet (Black, Large) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 44.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick/Perfect Delivery/Best Tablet I wanna say that B&H is great on packaging and delivery time, a day early to boot. I paint in PhotoshopCC and Painter12 and the large tablet is so much better than the other sizes, which reduced my hand fatigue. Nice surface texture too. It is customizable in anyway I know of: multiple touch gestures, hotkeys, orientation (left/right/up/down), mapping for my 2 monitors or screen toggling, et cetera. Oh yeah, after 15-18 hours my Wacom battery was still at 70%, so nice without cords. I owned a Cintiq22HD and hated the graininess of the interactive screen, but I have to say there are no disappointments with this IntuosPro large and my 27iMac. Best set-up I have ever used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Getting used to it I use this for drawing in Photoshop and Illustrator and it has just about replaced my mouse. I've only owned it for a couple of weeks and I'm not too far up the learning curve but after starting out feeling very awkward and somewhat frustrated I have become comfortable with it. I think the medium size would be fine for a lot of people. I use it with 3 monitors so it's nice to have the larger pad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Amazing When I first built my new PC I knew I wanted to move into editing my photos with a Wacom tablet after borrowing a smaller one. Originally I wanted to go with the medium, but after seeing the measurements it felt too cramp for my 27 inch monitor. I advise anyone looking to get this to immediately delve into the settings as the defaults are a bit strange. An added benefit is that it doubles as an input device if you have RSI issues with a normal mouse, and trackball. It takes time to get used to, though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My choice for video editing I edit video for a living and spend most of the day clicking away. You might not think of this as the first choice for an interface for video editing. Mice and trackballs give me carpal tunnel syndrome but holding a pen on this tablet does not. A tablet also can be set to map it's surface directly to the screens I am working on so I can develop muscle memory and work interfaces without even looking at them- the gestural equivalent of touch typing. I would give it 5 stars if the buttons and control ring were in a contrasting color so I could see them easily.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Tablet! I purchased the Intuos Pro and absolutely love it! Makes Photoshop feel like a whole new program - much, much, much easier to manipulate images than with a mouse. BUT - the Wacom Tablet Software is not compatible with MAC OS X Yosemite. This is a huge issue on Wacom and Photoshop forums - and they're correct - it's difficult at best to find a work-around. Hopefully, they get their software updated for us MAC users. Other than the software issues, I do love my Wacom!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good to have for serious PS work. Keyboard and mouse are good for photoshop work but with a tablet, ppl can do more. I would say if someone wants to do more serious photoshop work, a tablet is a must. I am not saying that mouse can't do the work tablet can, but steady mouse strike is not as accurate as pen strike, to be honest. My suggestion would be below 16' monitor, use small, above 27' monitor, use large, in the middle, use medium, generally speaking from my understanding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Photoshop Companion I use this product with Photoshop for editing photos. It works very well as advertised. Some people I know use this also for drawing or painting on the computer. This is my second purchase of this product, the fist one being four years ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wacom Rules I purchased this to replace my 10 year old version which stopped working where the USB connector plugs into the tablet (the connector was bent at some point, one or two puppies ago). I am pleased to see that the USB tablet connection design is improved. Oh I love this tablet; I started years ago with the small and the large suits me best. I was feeling lost for the few days I was without this! It's wonderful for editing in Photoshop and drawing, etc. Think precision; think ease and fluidity. I have not used it wirelessly yet - I need to look into that since the battery charged fully however when I unplugged the USB cable from the tablet, wi-fi did not take over; the light went out. I'll figure that out one day; I'm accustomed to using the tablet tethered so I don't feel put out by that.
